Ive been using price trackers for forever like literally since the early CamelCamelCamel days but I am struggling so hard to find something that actually works for Walmart consistently. Im moving into a new place in Chicago next month and I am dying to get this specific Ninja espresso machine but I refuse to pay full price when I know it dips every few weeks. I need something that:

  • gives instant push alerts on mobile
  • has a decent chrome extension for my laptop
  • actually tracks local store stock if possible
  • is totally free or super cheap

What are you guys using lately that isnt just a buggy mess? I tried Honey but the alerts are always delayed by like 4 hours and I keep missing the deals...

Like someone mentioned, Walmart's local pricing is a total nightmare to track. Most people dont realize that their pricing logic changes depending on your specific Chicago zip code, so a general price tracker usually fails. The technical reason Honey fails is because Walmart's bot protection flags their scrapers, causing those massive delays you're seeing. Just a few things to watch out for:

  • Avoid extensions that ask for read and change all data permissions.
  • Local inventory trackers are often estimated and not real-time.
  • Watch for apps that hammer your CPU in the background. I'd suggest looking into BrickSeek for the local inventory side. It is still way more reliable for local store stock than any browser extension. Ngl, sometimes the best way is just setting a keyword alert on a deal forum and letting the community do the heavy lifting for you.

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, I've been around the block with these..."

  • I totally agree. I spent months trying to snag a mountain bike last summer and realized most extensions are basically spyware anyway. The technical side is a headache because Walmart updates prices based on your local IP, so I usually just check inventory manually since those scripts cant handle regional store data well.

Honestly, I've been around the block with these trackers since the early days too, and Walmart is notoriously finicky to track compared to Amazon. In my experience, most of those chrome extensions just drain your battery or sell your data without actually catching the price drops in time. Over the years, I've tried many that promised the moon but delivered nothing but bugs. For that Ninja machine, I'd suggest checking out Capital One Shopping or setting a specific alert on Slickdeals. Since you are moving to Chicago—which isnt cheap, ngl—every dollar counts. Capital One is pretty reliable for Walmart specifically and their mobile push alerts are way faster than Honey ever was. I hate paying full price for kitchen gear too, especially when you know the sales are coming... just make sure the notifications are set to instant because those espresso machines sell out fast when the price hits that sweet spot.
