How do I find hidden clearance deals on Walmart's website?

I'm hunting for a $150 TV for my new dorm but the main clearance tab is pretty useless. I looked into BrickSeek and using specific zip codes like some blogs say, but the prices never actually change in my cart. Is there a trick to finding those deep hidden markdowns online or is it all just luck?

The online database and local store inventory systems rarely sync for clearance SKUs because of how Walmart handles localized markdown flags. Basically, the web cart defaults to national pricing logic. In my experience, you gotta use the app scanner in the physical store. Ive tried many tools over the years but the web price rarely budges. Check this tracker for better data. Itll save you a ton.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I've had the exact same issue for months. Even with Price Drop Catch, those budget TV deals are impossible to find. Honestly its so frustrating.

Regarding what #5 said about being careful with those budget brands... honestly, he's spot on. The performance on a clearance Onn or Hisense is usually pretty trash compared to a mid-range Vizio. If you really want a $150 TV that doesn't look like a potato, you gotta stop looking at the main clearance page. Heres what actually works for me:

  • Use the Walmart app, not the website, and set your location to a store in a less tech-savvy area.
  • Filter by 'In-store' specifically; if it says 'Shipping' itll always be full price.
  • Scan barcodes in person if you can, the app scanner sometimes reveals a lower price than the shelf tag. I usually check BrickSeek to see if a specific SKU is dropping across a region before I even leave the house. Most of those 'hidden' deals won't show up in your online cart because Walmart's web system is designed to protect their margins by shipping full-price units from a DC instead of pulling the clearance unit from a local shelf. It's kinda annoying but that's just how they do it.

> I'm hunting for a $150 TV for my new dorm but the main clearance tab is pretty useless. Tbh I am in the exact same situation and it is so stressful. I have been refreshing the page for hours because I really need to stay under that $150 mark, but I am terrified of buying something that turns out to be a dud. Like someone mentioned earlier about those budget brands, you really gotta be careful. I had a bad experience last year where I bought a cheap clearance monitor and it wouldnt even sync with my laptop because the ports were some weird old version. I would suggest being super cautious about compatibility because some of these older models they are clearing out might not even work with your game console or whatever. It is such a headache trying to save money without accidentally buying a paperweight... I am just as lost as you are right now.

I have been obsessing over this for months and honestly, finding those deep cuts is totally amazing when it finally works out! To add to the point above: you absolutely have to be careful with the phantom stock phenomenon. I have spent literal hours chasing deals that showed up as available online but were actually long gone from the distribution center. It is so frustrating but the thrill of the hunt is fantastic! One huge technical detail people miss is checking the Sold and shipped by Walmart filter every single time. If you dont check that, you are basically just looking at third-party scalpers and you will never see a real clearance price. Another thing is using price history trackers. For Walmart, I love using Slickdeals alerts for specific SKUs because it is way more reliable than the actual website search bar. But seriously, caution is key here. Never trust the In Stock label on the main website for clearance items because the system lag is real. Basically, you gotta look at the hidden categories that arent linked on the main nav. If you use a direct URL path for specific clearance categories and then sort by Newest, you sometimes catch stuff before the bots do. It is a methodical process but totally worth it for a $150 TV! Just watch out for those refurbished units labeled as new tho; always check the fine print in the technical description or you will get burned. Happy hunting!

^ This. Also, be super careful with those budget brands like Hisense or Onn when they hit clearance. I spent weeks hunting a $150 50-inch at a local store last year and finally found one buried in the back, but honestly... the picture quality was pretty mid. Compare that to a Vizio or an older LG floor model and the difference is huge. I would suggest looking at the Walmart Restored section instead of just the clearance tab. I managed to grab a decent Vizio there for way under my budget, but you definitely have to watch out for the seller ratings. Some of those third-party vendors are kinda sketchy tbh. Just make sure to check the return policy before you buy anything because returning stuff from a third party can be a nightmare. Might want to consider checking local warehouse clubs too if you have a membership, sometimes their floor models are cheaper than the hidden walmart deals anyway...
