So Im looking at this Kohls Rewards thing because Im finally moving into my own place in June and need basically everything... towels, kitchen stuff, maybe a new rug. I saw on their site that you get 5% back in rewards but then I read a thread where people were complaining that the points expire super fast or turn into Kohls Cash that has a tiny window to use.

My logic was to buy the big stuff now and use the rewards for clothes later in the summer but if the rewards only last 30 days that kinda ruins the plan. I definitely dont want the credit card even for the 7.5% boost because my credit is finally getting better and I dont need another bill. Does anyone actually save money with this if they arent a frequent shopper?

> if the rewards only last 30 days that kinda ruins the plan In my experience, the 30-day window is brutal. I've tried many programs and tbh lost $50 on my setup because I didnt hurry. Cash back apps are safer alternatives.

Honestly, it feels like a total scam. Ive been shopping around for years and these loyalty programs have become a complete nightmare for anyone who actually has a life. The way these companies jack up prices and then pretend to save you money with these impossible rules is just insulting. Its basically a full-time job trying to track everything before it vanishes into thin air.

  • prices are sky-high for mid-tier quality
  • rewards structures are totally predatory
  • you end up buying junk you dont need just to use a credit
  • customer loyalty means nothing to these big corporations anymore Drives me absolutely crazy how hard it is to just buy basic home stuff without feeling like youre getting played. The quality is going downhill while the hoops you have to jump through get smaller every year. Honestly, its just exhausting.
