So I'm currently trying to finish up my kitchen remodel here in Chicago and my budget is getting really tight like I basically have nothing left for appliances but I really need a new air fryer. I was looking at a Ninja one on Amazon and I swear the price changed three times since Tuesday. My nephew told me I should get a price tracker extension for my Chrome browser but honestly I dont even know what that really means or how it works. Is it just like a program that lives on the computer?

I'm kind of scared of downloading stuff that might track my private info or sell my data or whatever. I just want something that tells me if the price today is actually a deal or if I should wait a week. Does anyone know a good one that is totally free because I really cant spend more money right now? I looked at some online but they all look so complicated with graphs and stuff and I just want something simple that a complete beginner can understand. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm just really confused by all the options out there. I really need to buy this by the end of the month before my sister comes to visit...

I definitely agree with the first guy about Keepa being the gold standard for data, but it can be really overwhelming when you first look at those charts. Tbh I was super paranoid about privacy too when I started looking for trackers. I ended up just using the browser version of CamelCamelCamel for a long time because I didnt want anything actually living in my browser or watching what I did. Eventually, I realized that most of these big ones are safe enough, but you gotta be careful with the random ones no one has heard of. I had a similar situation with a blender last year. My budget was basically zero after fixing a plumbing leak in the kitchen. What I found was that some trackers let you set an email alert. That way, you dont even have to look at the site or deal with graphs every day. Just put in the price youre willing to pay and wait for the ping. It saved me like forty bucks on a KitchenAid. Also, keep an eye on those Amazon Warehouse deals for air fryers. Sometimes you can find a like new one for way less if the box was just opened and returned. It really helps when the budget is tight. TLDR: Most big name trackers are safe, but if youre worried about privacy or it looks too complex, use an email alert service like CamelCamelCamel instead of a full extension.

Keepa is basically the one you want. I have been running it for years and I am really satisfied with how it handles all the data points. It just injects a small chart directly onto the Amazon listing so you see the history immediately. It works well and you dont have to pay for basic price history. Honestly it makes the whole process pretty brainless once you see how the price drops happen tho...

> Is it just like a program that lives on the computer? Technically, a Chrome extension is a small software package that runs within your browser environment rather than as a standalone desktop application. Most of these tools function by monitoring the Document Object Model (DOM) of the webpage you are viewing to extract pricing data. If you are concerned about privacy, look for extensions that only request active tab permissions or use web-based trackers instead. Honey is a decent option for beginners because it handles coupons too, but it does collect a fair amount of data. For a simpler experience without the heavy charts, check out Price Drop Catch. I set a target price in Price Drop Catch and just forgot about it, then got the alert a few weeks later. It basically avoids the clutter of those complex graphs while still providing the core price monitoring functionality you need for that Ninja air fryer. It is definitely more beginner-friendly than most technical alternatives.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

Stumbled upon this and I have to chime in! I am obsessed with the Camelizer extension! It is totally the way to go if you want something safe and easy. The tool was perfect for my entire DIY kitchen project to track prices on hardware and it was a total lifesaver! Its super straightforward... you just click the icon and it shows you if the price is a ripoff or a steal. You dont have to worry about complicated settings or data mining which is huge for me. It is seriously amazing how much these prices jump around! Just install it, go to your air fryer page, and look at the history. If its at a low point then jump on it! I have used it for forever and it has never let me down. It is the only one I trust not to mess with my privacy while I am shopping. Good luck with the remodel... air fryers are a game changer for quick meals!

Regarding what #7 said about "Facts." - it really comes down to not overcomplicating things. Ive tried many of these over the years and while Keepa is definitely the most powerful, its a total resource hog. When youre in the middle of a kitchen remodel, you dont need your browser lagging while you have fifty tabs open for tile and hardware. Quick tip: stick with Camelizer and just use the price alert feature. You dont even need to look at the charts if they look like gibberish to you. Just put in the price you can actually afford for that Ninja and let it email you when it drops. It keeps your computer running smooth and stops you from obsessing over every tiny price change... honestly, life is too short to watch Amazon update their algorithms every six hours.

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.

Ok adding this to my list of things to try. Thanks for the tip!

Saw this a few hours ago and honestly... I feel your pain. The way Amazon manipulates prices every few hours is just infuriating. It makes me so stressed out trying to figure out if I'm getting a deal or getting ripped off for a simple air fryer. It's like you're playing a game against a supercomputer just to finish your kitchen. It really gets under my skin how inconsistent their dynamic pricing algorithms are tho. I would suggest being very careful with what you install. Make sure to check the site access permissions in your browser so the extension only runs when you manually click it. Also, be careful to check the data refresh interval on the charts because some free tools use cached data that might be 12 hours old, which is useless when prices shift every 30 minutes. Just stay cautious and dont feel rushed.
