My sister and I are finally moving into our new flat in Manchester next week and I am SO hyped to get the living room sorted!! I've spent all morning filling my Amazon UK basket with fairy lights, rugs, and some cute plant pots but now I need to send the whole thing to her so she can see the total and double check everything before I hit buy. I looked it up and saw some people mention chrome extensions like Share-A-Cart but that feels kinda sketchy for bank details and stuff? Then I saw people saying to just make a Wishlist but that doesnt seem to save the specific quantities of items I already picked out. Is there a faster way to just send the link to my actual basket?

Amazon doesnt actually have a native way to share a live basket link because of how their sessions and cookies work, so you are basically stuck with workarounds. If you want to avoid those third-party extensions but still need her to see the quantities, the built-in List feature is actually more flexible than people think. You just have to tweak it a bit after adding things.

  • First, create a new list specifically for the flat move and make sure it is set to Shared so she can see it.
  • Go to your basket and move everything to that list. It is a bit of a manual process, but it keeps your bank details completely isolated from extra plugins.
  • Once the items are in the list, you can click on Add comments, quantity and priority to specify exactly how many you need. This basically solves the quantity issue you had with the standard wishlist.
  • Use the Invite link at the top to send it to her. If you give her Edit access, she can even swap out the plant pots for ones she prefers. Since you are moving to Manchester, you might also want to look at Amazons Warehouse section for the rugs. I have grabbed decor from there before for like 20 or 30 percent off just because the box was slightly torn. It is a solid way to save some cash when you are buying a lot of stuff at once. It is definitely more tedious than a one-click extension, but it is the most secure way to do it within the Amazon site itself. Just make sure she checks the list soon so you dont lose the stock on the pots.

honestly i had the same worry about extensions but i have been using Share-a-Cart for ages and it works well for exactly this. no complaints here. it keeps all the quantities right which is the main thing.

  • go to the basket page
  • click the extension button
  • send her the code it gives you it doesnt touch your bank stuff, just the items. super satisfied with it tbh.
