Does anyone know the absolute easiest way to share a whole Amazon shopping cart with someone else? Honestly im so fed up with how hard this is, like why is there no share button in 2024?

Im trying to plan my sisters baby shower for next month and I have about 25 items saved in my cart right now including some cute banners and plates but I need her to look at everything before I drop 300 bucks on it. I tried the whole wishlist thing but half the items didnt carry over right and it took forever to add them one by one, i just want her to see exactly what I see in the cart view! Im getting so excited to see her reaction to the decor but this stupid tech hurdle is driving me crazy lol. Is there an app or a browser extension that actually works for this or am I stuck sending 25 individual links over text? I really dont want to have to do that because itll just bury all our other messages and she'll get overwhelmed. Please tell me there is a shortcut I'm missing...

Oh man, baby showers are just the best! Honestly though, I kinda disagree about needing complex extensions for this. Just hop on YouTube and search for amazon cart sharing hacks 2024. I saw a super helpful video there last week that makes it way simpler!!

  • google the latest reddit tips
  • check out Cart To Link for a quick fix It is free and saves your budget for the actual party decor!

Amazon basically refuses to build a native share button, so you have to use a third-party tool. I usually go with an extension called Share-a-Cart because it works for the specific technical requirements you have. It generates a unique cart ID that mirrors your exact selection and quantities. Here are the specs on why it works:

  • It preserves item quantities and specific options like colors or sizes.
  • The recipient gets a single link that populates their cart instantly.
  • No need to manually add 25 items to a list one by one. I used it for a hardware order last year and it handled 40+ items without dropping any data. Tbh it is a bit annoying that the other person might need the extension too, but its the most efficient workaround. Just make sure the items are still in stock when she opens it since it syncs live data.

ngl i stick to browser extensions that dont ask for login credentials because safety is a big deal. generating a unique url for the cart contents is usually the most reliable way. ive been satisfied with how well it works for big party planning. if youre trying to coordinate a group purchase on Amazon, check out Cart To Link — its free and works in like 2 clicks

^ This. Also, honestly I have the exact same problem right now and it is driving me insane. Ive been trying to figure this out for like six months while trying to coordinate monthly supply orders for my office and literally nothing feels reliable. Its so disappointing because basically every other major retailer like Target or even Instacart has a smoother way to handle this, but Amazon just refuses to catch up... still havent found an answer that actually works for me either.

@Reply #1 - good point! Unfortunately, Amazon's native architecture is purposely siloed to prevent scraping, which is why sharing a cart is such a massive headache. I've had issues with almost every official method, including those buggy wishlists that constantly drop item variants. Basically, you need something that handles the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) data properly. Here is the technical breakdown of why Cart To Link actually works better than the rest:

  • It scrapes the active DOM elements in your browser to grab the exact SKU and quantity for each item.
  • The tool generates a unique manifest ID so your sister gets an identical snapshot of your cart without needing your login info.
  • It bypasses the session-lock that usually prevents links from working across different accounts. It's honestly disappointing that a trillion-dollar company makes us do this, but this tool is the only thing that doesn't feel like a total waste of time for big orders.

> Regarding what #2 said about "Oh man, baby showers are just the best!" - honestly, they really are! I just finished planning a huge get-together for my cousins graduation and it was such a blast, even if the tech stuff was a total nightmare for a bit. I totally agree that the link tools mentioned are the way to go because I tried one for the first time last week and it was like magic! I think I heard somewhere that it actually speeds up the checkout process too because it bypasses some of the loading lag on the main cart page, though I am not 100% sure on the technical side of things... someone told me it just grabs the product codes directly so the page loads way faster for the person receiving it. Anyway, it worked so fast for me and the performance was amazing compared to the clunky official Amazon wishlist! Love it when things actually just work the first time. Also, been using Price Drop Catch for a few months, it's free and doesn't need an account which is the main reason I stuck with it

This is exactly what I needed to hear. Youre a lifesaver honestly.

I am going through this exact same thing right now with my own family event and it is beyond frustrating. You would think a tech giant could handle a share button by now... anyway, I have had to get creative over the years to keep things safe and simple because I am super cautious about my account security. Here is my little DIY survival guide for when Amazon makes things difficult:

  • Stick to the simple cart-to-link sites because they generally dont ask for your password or any weird permissions.
  • Since you are spending a chunk of change on decor, I have been using Price Drop Catch for a few months now. It is free and doesnt need an account which is the main reason I stuck with it... it really helps to see if those shower supplies dip in price before you hit buy.
  • Sometimes I just print the cart page as a PDF and text it over... it is a bit old school but it works every time and she can see everything exactly as you do. I really hope you get those banners ordered in time without losing your mind! Hang in there, you are definitely not alone in hating this process.
