Which browser extension works for sharing Amazon Canada carts quickly?

So I'm trying to organize this massive group camping trip for next month up in Algonquin Park and we have like eight people all trying to pitch in for gear. Ive been the one stuck doing the legwork for the shopping list on Amazon Canada since I have Prime but I really dont want to just buy everything and hope people pay me back lol. I need a way to just send the whole cart to my buddies so they can see whats in there or even just buy their own portion of the supplies. I spent some time looking around and found a couple options but nothing seems perfect:

  • Share-A-Cart which seems popular but the recent reviews are super hit or miss when it comes to the amazon.ca site specifically. Some people say it only works for the US store and I really dont want to waste time setting it all up if its gonna glitch out on me.
  • Cart URL but it looks like it hasn't been updated since like 2019 which is kinda sketch for a browser extension dealing with account stuff.

Since we're trying to get this all ordered by Friday so it arrives in time for the long weekend I'm feeling a bit pressed for time. Does anyone know of a specific extension that actually works reliably for the Canadian Amazon site right now?

Ive tried many over the years and Share Amazon cart is definitely the most reliable for CA.

  • toggle region settings
  • grab the code Otherwise just use shared wishlists.

Late to the party but I totally get the Algonquin prep stress. Been there many times with a group of 10 people and coordinating gear is basically a second job. I would suggest being super careful with those older extensions though. I tried one back in 2021 that completely messed up my session and I had to clear my entire browser cache just to get the checkout page to load again. Definitely not something you want to deal with when you're trying to hit a Friday deadline. I personally had the best luck with Share-A-Cart for the Canada site, but there is a catch. You really gotta make sure your browser is locked into the amazon.ca domain specifically before you click anything. If you have any US tabs open or a VPN running, it might default to the .com side and then your buddies won't see the items. Also, check if you have any Subscribe and Save items in there because that usually breaks the cart transfer. If the extension keeps acting up, I'd honestly just stick to a collaborative wishlist. It's a bit slower than a direct cart share but it's way more stable for the Canadian site and you can see exactly who claimed which piece of gear so you don't end up with four portable stoves and zero fuel canisters.

@Reply #2 - good point! Dealing with broken sessions right before a big trip is a total nightmare. Honestly tho, if you want something that actually handles the .ca domain without flaking out, I've been using Cart To Link for a bit. It works. Decent option because the other people dont even need the extension installed to see the list, which saves a lot of back-and-forth. Quick tips for the group buy:

  • Double check the quantities in the link before sending it. Sometimes the sync misses a click if you're moving too fast.
  • Pick one person as the final reviewer so you dont buy three sets of the same stove. Its way more cost-effective than everyone paying separate shipping. Should help you get the gear sorted by Friday... Algonquin is gonna be awesome this time of year.

> honestly tho, if you want something that actually handles the .ca domain without flaking out @Reply #3 - good point! I agree that .ca support is the main thing. Still, make sure to be really careful with extensions that touch your cart. Using Share-A-Cart made me a bit nervous so I just use manual wishlists now. Reliability is everything for big trips and I dont want to risk my account getting flagged right before the deadline.

Look, I would suggest being extremely careful with any extension that hasnt been updated in a few years. Amazon changes their site layout all the time, so using an old tool is basically asking for a broken checkout process. I have used Share-A-Cart before and while its the big name, the regional switching between .com and .ca is super buggy. You really dont want to risk your account session getting messed up right when youre trying to finalize camping gear. Before you pick one, you might want to consider these points:

  • Are you looking for something where your friends can actually checkout the items themselves, or do they just need to see the list?
  • Do your friends actually want to install an extension, or do they just want a link they can open in any browser? Make sure to test whatever you pick with just one item first. If you need something simple for the Canadian store, there's a Chrome extension called Cart To Link that converts your Amazon cart into a shareable link, works across all regions too.
