so i just spent way too much money on the new iphone 17 pro and honestly im kind of panicking because i realized it doesn't even come with the wall plug thingy. i haven't upgraded in like five years and i have no idea what im doing with all these different usb types. sorry if this is a total newbie question but i only have about 35 dollars left in my budget for charging stuff and i really need a fast one before my flight next tuesday. im terrified of buying a cheap one and having it fry my new phone or something. are there any specific brands that are cheap but actually safe to use? i just need a brick and a long cable for my room...

Stick with Anker 511 Charger Nano 3 30W and a Anker 643 USB-C to USB-C Cable 10ft. Be careful with cheap brands tho, make sure you dont fry that expensive port!

Building on the earlier suggestion, i honestly think you should look at UGREEN because apple prices are just ridiculous nowadays. I had issues with some generic cables from amazon failing after a month so i avoid the super cheap ones. If you want something solid but cheaper than the apple brand stuff, the UGREEN Nexode 30W GaN Charger is basically essential. It uses GaN tech so it stays cool and wont fry your battery. For the cable, i tried a cheap nylon one last year and it was garbage... stopped fast charging after a week. You're better off with the UGREEN USB C to USB C Cable 60W 6ft. It fits your $35 budget easily and actually handles the charging speeds of the pro models. Just make sure the brick says PD 3.0 or you're gonna be waiting forever for a full charge. Honestly, its annoying that we even have to buy these separately now tho.

To add to the point above: it seems like the group has steered you in the right direction. Honestly, you dont need to spend a fortune to keep that phone safe. I've been really happy with my Amazon Basics USB-C Accessories lately and they've worked well for me without any issues at all. If you're still nervous, just stick to any Anker Charging Block or maybe a UGREEN Wall Plug. Both brands are super reliable and i've found them to be basically identical in real-world use. Just grab whatever fits your budget best today and you'll be set for your flight. Honestly, as long as the brand is recognizable, you're not gonna fry anything... these phones are smarter than we give them credit for lol. No complaints from my side using the cheaper stuff for years.

Jumping in quickly! I spent years testing hardware after a cheap brick scorched my outlet... honestly terrifying. The Spigen ArcStation Pro 30W USB-C Wall Charger is amazing because the GaN circuitry keeps temps super low. Compare that to the Belkin BoostCharge 30W USB-C Wall Charger which is bulkier tho it offers a more robust chassis. Both are fantastic. Get the Spigen and a Cable Matters USB-C to USB-C Charging Cable 10ft to stay safe!
