I'm looking for recommendations on the best VR headset compatible with the iPhone 14 Max. I want something that offers great performance and a good user experience. Are there specific models that work particularly well with iOS? Additionally, any insights on features like comfort, display quality, and app availability would be appreciated. Honestly, I've spent years testing different mobile VR setups and the biggest thing I learned is that phone-based VR is basically a death sentence for ur battery health. I used one of those high-end plastic shells with my current setup and the thermal throttling was insane. * **Thermal issues:** The iPhone 14 Max is powerful but it lacks active cooling. Running VR apps at high frame rates turns the phone into a literal heater.
* **Structural Integrity:** Many of those universal mounts don't have proper locking mechanisms. I almost cracked my screen once when a latch failed mid-session.
* **Gyro Drift:** Even with the solid IMUs Apple uses, phone-based VR just isn't reliable for long sessions compared to dedicated hardware. Idk if it's worth the risk to ur hardware tbh. Just my experience after seeing way too many swollen batteries from people pushing their phones way too hard in closed VR headsets!!!
