Omg congrats on the new phone!! I totally get the struggle... you spend all that cash and then it charges like a snail with those old bricks lol. Since you're heading to Chicago on Friday you definitely need something snappy. I'm kind of a budget nerd and I've been obsessed with the Anker Nano Power Bank 30W with Built-in USB-C Cable 10000mAh lately! It is seriously amazing because the cable is built right in. Tbh one less thing to lose under the airplane seat is a total win for me. It charges my phone to like 50 percent in thirty mins which is just wild compared to the old ones. If you want something with even more juice for a long trip, I also love the Baseus Adaman Power Bank 30W 20000mAh. It is super affordable usually and feels really sturdy in your hand. Basically just look for the little digital screen on it that tells you exactly how much battery is left so you dont get stuck with a dead bank mid-flight. Honestly just make sure whatever you buy says 30W or higher for the output... that makes a huge difference with the new iPhone 16 speeds!! Have a fantastic trip and enjoy that beautiful new screen!!

I've had a moment to think about this and while the 30W advice is solid for basic needs, I'd actually disagree slightly. To get the absolute best out of that iPhone+16+without+the+brick&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPhone 16 without the brick getting scorching hot, you really want something with more overhead. Using the Ugreen Nexode 100W Power Bank 20000mAh has been great and I'm honestly so satisfied with how it performs. The technical reason is that higher wattage banks don't have to work as hard to hit the iPhone's peak draw, which keeps everything cooler and more efficient. It’s a bit more of an investment upfront, but it’s way more practical if you ever need to top up a tablet or laptop too. No complaints at all with mine—it just works well every time. Definitely check the specs on the port itself to make sure it's a single-port 65W or 100W output for the best results!

> honestly so fed up with my old brick it takes forever to charge my new 16 even with a usbc cable. I caught this thread just in time. In my experience, jumping to the highest wattage isnt always the smartest move if the internal safety chips are subpar. A few years back, I grabbed a high-speed brick for a trip and it actually ended up throttling the charge curve because it got way too hot. It was super frustrating... I thought I was getting a deal, but the lack of proper thermal management meant it was actually slower than a standard brick after ten minutes. I always look for stuff with active temperature monitoring now. If the bank doesnt have solid over-voltage protection, you risk stressing the lithium cells on that pricey 16. My current setup stays cool even when im pushing it hard during long travel days. Honestly, just make sure whatever you grab has certified safety standards because those cheap generic ones can really mess with your long-term battery health. Better to be safe than sorry for your flight!

  • I would suggest being very cautious with what you pick up before your flight tomorrow. The iPhone+16+handles+higher+wa&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPhone 16 handles higher wattage than previous models, so you really need a pack that supports at least 27W or 30W Power Delivery (PD) output. If you buy a generic unit without specific PD specs, itll basically just charge at the same slow speed as your old brick. A few technical points to verify first:
  • Verify the output wattage for the USB-C port specifically.
  • Ensure your cable is actually rated for fast charging.
  • Be careful with capacity; anything over 100Wh is gonna get flagged by security. I have two questions to help narrow this down:
  • Do you prefer a slim profile for your pocket or a large unit for the flight?
  • What is your actual budget for this?
