I finally bit the bullet and got the 9 Pro Fold upgrading from my old 6 Pro which was basically tied to a wall outlet 24/7 tbh it was so annoying how slow it charged and the battery was just... gone by lunch. Anyway I have this huge trip coming up in like five days and Im suddenly realizing all my old travel gear like my car mount and my little gimbal dont actually fit this thing because of the weird dimensions when its unfolded. I really need to prioritize the camera and battery since Im gonna be taking photos all day but I dont want to buy junk that breaks or makes the phone feel like a literal brick in my pocket. Does anyone have recommendations for like, a solid thin case that works with MagSafe maybe? Or a specific power bank that actually hits the fast charging speeds for the Fold specifically? Im kinda worried about the inner screen getting scratched in my bag too so maybe a sleeve or something? What are the absolute essentials you guys are packing for a long trip with this specific form factor because I feel like none of my old stuff works anymore...

Ngl the 9 Pro Fold dimensions are a headache for travel gear. Standard clamps usually fail. For a thin case with MagSafe, check Mous Super Thin Magnetic Case. It adds the magnets without the bulk. For charging, you need PPS support to hit fast speeds. I use Anker 737 Power Bank PowerCore 24K. It is heavy but the display shows the wattage so you know it's actually fast charging. Tbh do not use adhesive MagSafe rings; they peel off the matte glass. Travel essentials:

  • DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Gimbal
  • Use the magnetic adapter for the Fold's weight.
  • Bellroy Tech Kit
  • Keeps the phone away from keys to prevent inner screen damage.
  • Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector
  • Essential for the outer display. Idk if you need a car mount, but Peak Design Mobile Car Mount works well with the Mous case. Lowkey skip the cheap sleeves and just use a tech pouch to protect the inner screen during transit. The inner screen is fragile so keeping it clean is the main priority. Most old car mounts won't hold the width when unfolded, so magnetic is the only way to go. It is much faster than messing with adjustable arms every time you get in the car.
