Hey everyone. I just finally pulled the trigger on the new Google Pixel 9 Pro in that beautiful Hazel color, and to be honest, I am absolutely terrified of dropping it. This is the most I have ever spent on a smartphone, and since I usually keep my phones for at least three or four years, I really want to make sure it stays in pristine condition from day one.

I have been scouring the internet for the best protective options, but it is honestly getting a bit overwhelming with so many brands out there. I am specifically looking for a case that addresses a couple of my main concerns. First, the new camera bar design on the 9 Pro looks a bit more pronounced this year, and I am really worried about that glass getting scratched every time I set the phone down on a table. Second, I have really grown to love using Magsafe-style accessories, like magnetic car mounts and wallets, so finding a rugged case with built-in magnets that does not interfere with the wireless charging or the phone's internal compass would be a massive win for me.

In the past, I have used Spigen and Otterbox, but I am curious if there are newer brands that offer better shock absorption without making the phone feel like a literal brick in my pocket. I tend to be pretty clumsy—I have a bad habit of dropping my phone while getting out of the car or fumbling it on the kitchen tile.

Ideally, I am looking for something that hits these points:

  • Deep ridges or a raised lip to protect the screen and that massive camera island
  • A grippy texture or some kind of side ribbing so it does not slide out of my hand
  • Compatibility with tempered glass screen protectors without causing the edges to peel up

I really want to protect this investment while still being able to actually enjoy using it. If you have already picked up a case for your 9 Pro or have a specific brand you swear by for Pixel phones, I would love to hear your thoughts. What are the best protective cases for the Google Pixel 9 Pro that actually balance serious drop protection with a decent design?

I have been using the Mous Limitless 5.0 MagSafe Walnut Case for my Pixel 9 Pro and the AiroShock tech is legit for drops while keeping the MagSafe magnets perfectly aligned.

I totally agree with the others about Spigen and Mous being solid, but if youre really looking for maximum safety without the phone feeling like a brick, I gotta chime in. I have been using the UAG Monarch Pro MagSafe for Pixel 9 Pro for a while and it is built like a tank. It has carbon fiber accents and huge raised corners that really protect that camera glass when you set it down. If you want something a bit more budget-friendly but still very grippy, check out the Caseology Athlex for Google Pixel 9 Pro. It has this sandy, textured finish that basically glues the phone to your hand. Both of these are totally compatible with MagSafe accessories and tempered glass protectors. Heres my top picks for reliability:

Mous is great, but honestly the Spigen Tough Armor (MagFit) Google Pixel 9 Pro Case is a better value imo. It has thick foam inside for drops and the camera lip is huge so you wont scratch that glass. If youre worried about fumbling it, the Dbrand Grip Case MagSafe for Pixel 9 Pro is probably the grippiest thing out there. Both work perfectly with magnets tho.
