I just pre-ordered the Pixel 9 Pro and I'm pretty nervous about protecting that massive camera bar! I’m looking for something rugged enough for drops but slim enough to fit in my pocket comfortably. Does anyone have recommendations for a grippy, MagSafe-compatible case that doesn't add too much bulk? What are you guys using?

In my experience, the camera bar is the part everyone worries about for a reason. It's basically a giant glass target! The trick is finding a case that has a high enough 'lip' around the visor without feeling like a brick in ur pocket. I've been through a dozen Pixels over the years and learned that cheap cases usually fail at the magnets or the grip eventually.

For ur situation, I highkey recommend the Mous Limitless 5.0 for Google Pixel 9 Pro because:

- It uses AiroShock tech for crazy drop protection without the bulk.
- The MagSafe magnets are actually strong enough for heavy car mounts.
- It's slim but has a textured grip so it wont slide out of ur hand.

I'm super satisfied with how it protects the glass on my current setup. It's saved me from a few heart attacks already lol. Good luck with the new phone!! 👍

Honestly, I've seen too many 'slim' cases fail during a simple waist-high drop because the impact dispersion was basically non-existent. I worked in tech repair for years and that Pixel camera visor is a major structural weak point if the case doesn't have a rigid internal frame... I learned the hard way that 'slim' often means 'zero corner protection' for that glass.

For your situation, I would suggest looking at the Dbrand Grip Case for Pixel 9 Pro. It's probably the most technically sound balance between bulk and safety. It has these microscopic ridges that make it insanely grippy so you don't drop it in the first place, plus it's fully MagSafe compatible. If you want something even more conservative, the Spigen Tough Armor for Pixel 9 Pro is a tank, though it's a bit thicker. Just make sure whatever you get has at least a 2mm lip around that camera glass!! Be careful with those cheap TPU shells... they're basically useless for serious drop protection tbh. Better safe than sorry when you're carrying a $1k phone!

Honestly, looking at what everyone’s said so far, it basically comes down to choosing between those high-end boutique brands or the big names we see everywhere. I’ve been doing some market research since I'm pretty new to the Pixel world, and it seems like ur choice depends on how much you want to spend on that name brand peace of mind. So basically:
* Go with **Otterbox** if you want that classic reputation for drop safety, you really can't go wrong with them for protection.
* Maybe check out **Caseology** if you want those grippy textures without spending a ton of money.
* Just get any of the **Torras** cases if the MagSafe thing is ur main priority, as they seem to be winning on magnet strength lately. Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out if the thinner materials actually work as well as the bulky ones, but it’s definitely a trade-off. Has anyone noticed if certain brands make the phone feel way heavier?
