so i finally got the new motorola razr 2026 and im so excited but also kinda terrified like i dont even know if youre allowed to put a screen protector on a folding screen—wait can you even do that?? sorry if this is super dumb but i just upgraded from my crusty iphone 11 that literally died after an hour and i dont want to ruin this one. i love the small size and the camera is great for my cat pics but i have no idea where to start with protection.
is there a special brand for these or am i gonna mess up the hinge?
Re: "^ This. Also, I’m no expert but I..." - honestly i have been through three of these folding phones since they first came out and the expensive protectors are a total scam ngl. i tried some "premium" $40 one years ago on my old flip and it peeled in like two days because of the hinge pressure... literally such a waste. now i just buy the cheap packs because you’re gonna have to swap them out eventually anyway once they start bubbling. lowkey been using <a href=" https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=IQ+Shield+Screen+Protector+for+ Motorola+Razr&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p4624852.m570.l1311&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5337998953&customid=22&toolid=10001&mkevt=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">IQ Shield Screen Protector for Motorola Razr for a while now and it does the job for way less. its that wet-install stuff which is actually way better if youre clumsy because you can slide it around before it sticks. dont overthink it... just get the multipack and save your cash for a decent case instead.
ngl the fear of breaking that folding screen is SO real when you first get it but honestly you dont have to worry too much... motorola usually has a protector on there already but if you want something extra or a replacement cause the stock one gets smudged fast i get it. tbh since you just spent all your cash on the phone you should lowkey check out Supershieldz High Definition Clear Shield (PET) because they come in packs of like three for super cheap. if you mess up the first time cause youre clumsy (relatable lol) you still got two backups. i learned from a random youtube video that you gotta be careful with the hinge area so dont go for glass because it literally wont fold lol... you need the film ones. if you can swing a few extra bucks Spigen NeoFlex Solid Film is usually the goat for foldables because it uses a wet install method that lets you slide it around until its PERFECT before it dries. just make sure you dont peel off the factory one unless its already bubbling because sometimes moto gets weird about warranties if you mess with the internal screen layer... idk if thats still the case for the 2026 model but worth checking. anyway just take it slow and maybe watch a tutorial like five times before you try it and you should be totally fine.
^ This. Also, I’m no expert but I just looked into this last week when I got mine—actually it was more like ten days ago—and I found out:
