Hey everyone! I just picked up the new OnePlus 12R and I'm absolutely loving the display, but that curved screen is making me a bit nervous about scratches. I’ve had bad luck with standard adhesive protectors lifting at the edges, so I’m looking into UV glue tempered glass for a more permanent, seamless fit. I'm specifically worried about the glue interfering with the in-display fingerprint sensor or getting into the earpiece during setup. Does anyone have a specific brand recommendation that is case-friendly and comes with a solid installation tray? I’m looking for something high-quality that won't kill the touch sensitivity. Which UV glass kit have you guys found works best for the 12R?

oh man, i totally get the nerves about that curved glass!! I've been there with my current setup. Honestly, over the years I've tried many different ways to protect my screens, and UV is basically the only way to go for those curves. I mean, standard adhesive just doesnt cut it.

In my experience, you usually have two choices: go with a big brand like Whitestone or try those generic multi-packs from Amazon. The premium ones are sooo much better because the installation tray actually fits perfectly, which stops the glue from wandering. I remember the first time I tried a cheap kit, I almost ruined my earpiece cuz I didnt tape it well enough... terrifying, right?

For the fingerprint sensor, I found that the key is to lightly press on the sensor area right before you do the final UV cure. It keeps the touch sensitivity perfect. Anyway, I think the high-end kits are the best choice even if they cost more, just for the peace of mind. good luck!

Similar situation here - I went through this exact struggle when I first moved to phones with those aggressive curves, and man, it's a learning curve for sure. Honestly, I've tried basically every brand under the sun over the last five years, and the tech has come a long way, but it's still nerve-wracking every time.

I remember my first time with a Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector kit on an older OnePlus; I was SO stressed about the glue getting into the speaker that I probably used way too much tape. It actually turned out great, but it took forever. Recently, I've been comparing that to the OnePlus+12R&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">Akcoo UV Glue Tempered Glass for OnePlus 12R kits you see on Amazon or AliExpress. The Whitestone is definitely the premium pick—the glass feels thicker and the installation jig is basically foolproof—but it's expensive. On the other hand, the Akcoo or Mocolo options are way cheaper, and while the glass is thinner, you usually get two or three in a pack.

My big lesson learned? It's all about the prep. I actually use a tiny bit of scotch tape to cover the earpiece and the buttons even if the kit comes with stickers. Also, if you're worried about the fingerprint sensor, I've found that lightly pressing on the sensor area during the first few seconds of the UV cure helps highkey. Just gotta be careful not to push all the glue out from the edges! It’s a bit of a process, but once it’s on, it’s literally like there's nothing there. gl with the install!

Regarding what #5 said about "." - lol, basically the sound of me holding my breath before the glue drops! Actually, I disagree that you need the most expensive brand to get a solid result. My experience going the technical DIY route has been amazing. After getting my 12R, I was obsessed with finding glass that wouldn't mess with the 120Hz touch sampling rate or the 9H hardness specs. The one I got was the Akcoo UV Glass Screen Protector and it's been fantastic! Prep is way more important than the tray itself, honestly. I used my own Kapton tape to seal everything off instead of the cheap stickers in the box. My current setup is flawless and the fingerprint sensor is super snappy... literally no lag at all. It turns out if you're patient with the curing process and check the UV lamp wattage, you don't need to spend $50 for a good seal!

I went through this last year. Honestly, I tried cheaping out with those $10 generic UV kits off Amazon but man, it was a mess. Are you looking for a full installation tray or just the glass? Basically, the cheaper ones leaked everywhere tho.
