honestly so fed up with my current bricks taking two hours to charge this S26. I spent a ton of money on this thing and the old plugs just arent cutting it anymore. I need something legit for my Seattle trip next Friday. Any recommendations for fast chargers for Galaxy S26?
I've been testing a few of these lately and honestly, it is frustrating how many "fast" chargers fail to actually trigger the S26's max speeds. You specifically need something with PPS support that hits at least 4.05A or 5A at 11V. Most old bricks just dont have the right communication protocol. I started with the Samsung 45W USB-C Fast Charging Wall Charger EP-T4510. It's the official pick, but unfortunately, it's just one port and feels overpriced for what it is. The build quality is fine, but it’s bulky in a bag and lacks versatility for a trip. Then I moved to the Anker 737 Charger GaNPrime 120W. It's technically superior with three ports, but I had issues with it occasionally resetting the charging handshake when I plugged in my watch. Its also way heavier than it looks in photos, which kinda sucks for travel. If you want something smaller, the Ugreen Nexode 65W GaN 3-Port Charger is okay, but it gets surprisingly hot during the first thirty minutes. I measured it at almost 55C which is a bit concerning for long-term battery health. If you dont mind the heat, it's the most portable. Just make sure you use a 5A rated cable too, or the charger wont matter at all. People always forget the cable is half the battle with these high-wattage Samsung devices... pretty annoying to spend $50 on a brick and realize your cord is the bottleneck.
Regarding what #2 said about "To add to the point above: I remember..."
To add to the point above: I remember trying my old laptop brick on a new phone thinking it would just work because it was high wattage. Total disaster. It barely trickled power because the protocols didnt match up. One thing you gotta watch out for is the cable itself. People spend money on a fancy wall plug then use a thin cable they found in a junk drawer. If that cable isnt specifically rated for 5A current, your S26 wont even attempt the top speeds. I learned that the hard way during a trip last year where my phone stayed at 15% for hours. Also, keep an eye on the heat. Some units get insanely hot if they arent built well, which is a recipe for a dead battery. Basically, if the brick is scorching, unplug it. Just make sure the cable supports 5A, not just the brick.
