So I just got the shipping notification for my S26 and it arrives tomorrow morning but I totally forgot they dont give you a brick anymore. I spent like an hour looking at threads and I see everyone mentioning the official 45W Samsung one but then I saw some reddit post saying the 65W GaN chargers from Ugreen are better for heat management? Im so confused if the S26 actually uses the extra wattage or if its just a waste of money. I need something fast because I travel for work and cant wait 2 hours for a charge.

  • budget is max 35-40 quid
  • needs to be small enough for a carry-on
  • ideally has two ports so I can charge my buds too

Does anyone actually have the S26 yet and tested these? I need to order tonight to get it by tomorrow afternoon...

Regarding what #2 said about PPS compatibility being the real killer, it is honestly so frustrating how many brands lie about their specs. I have wasted way too much cash on bricks that claim 65W but wont trigger Super Fast Charging 2.0 on my Galaxy.

  • Baseus GaN6 Pro 65W Fast Charger is pretty decent for your 35 quid budget and has the ports you need. Downside is the heat management isnt as good as I expected... it gets pretty toasty during long sessions compared to more expensive gear.
  • Spigen ArcStation Pro 45W Dual USB-C GaN Wall Charger is my go-to for travel because it is tiny and fits in any pocket. Unfortunately, it only has two ports, so you are limited if you carry a tablet or laptop too. Just a heads up, you absolutely need a 5A E-marker cable or the S26 wont pull the full 45W anyway. Dont get caught out by that or you will be stuck at 25W and wondering why you spent the extra money on a fast brick. It is such a headache honestly.

Honestly, the S26 wattage situation is pretty straightforward once you look at the PPS specs. I have been very happy with the Ugreen Nexode Pro 65W GaN Charger 3-Port for my setup. It hits that 45W Super Fast Charging 2.0 mark perfectly while leaving enough juice for my watch or buds. The GaN tech really keeps the heat down, which was a huge concern for me too when I first got the phone. If you compare it to the Samsung 45W Power Adapter T4510, the official brick is reliable but just way too limited for travel. I hate carrying multiple blocks. The Samsung one works well but lacks that second port you need. I also spent some time with the Anker 735 Charger GaNPrime 65W and it is a fantastic alternative. It is remarkably small for the power it puts out, tho I found the Ugreen slightly better for staying plugged into loose hotel outlets. For a 40 quid budget, the Ugreen is definitely the sweet spot. It handles the S26 curve smoothly and doesnt get roasting hot during that initial 0 to 50 percent sprint. It has been a great experience so far and fits easily in any carry-on without any complaints.

Building on the earlier suggestion, PPS compatibility is where most people get tripped up. I learned that the hard way when I grabbed a multi-port brick for a business trip last month. Even though it was marketed as high wattage, it lacked the specific 5A PPS profile required for the Samsung 45W handshake. I was stuck with standard charging speeds because I didnt check the fine print on the voltage ranges. You really have to be careful about the cable too. I once spent hours troubleshooting why my setup was slow until I realized my cable didnt have an e-marker chip. I eventually got the Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable 140W which solved my throughput issues. Make sure the brick you pick supports at least 11V at 4.05A. If it only goes up to 3A on the PPS scale, you wont ever see those top speeds regardless of the total wattage.
