Which screen protector is actually worth it for the S26 Plus? I’m upgrading from an S21 Plus and my main issue was the fingerprint sensor being hit-or-miss with glass covers. I looked at the Spigen GLAS.tR and the Whitestone Dome. Spigen is supposedly easy to install but I've read it slows down the sensor a lot. Whitestone is meant to be better for the ultrasonic reader, but the UV light setup looks like a total mess. I chose this phone for the battery and camera, so I don't want a thick protector ruining the lens or the sleek size. Which one actually works?
I’ve been spiraling on Reddit about this for like three days and ngl, the UV stuff is lowkey a nightmare if you aren't a pro. Tbh I’d just skip the glass entirely and go for the Samsung Official Screen Protector for S26 Plus because it’s super thin and won't mess with that sleek feel you're after. Wait, actually — if you really want the drop protection of glass, the amFilm OneTouch Glass Screen Protector for S26 Plus is a way easier install than the Spigen one. My main tip though is to just re-register your fingerprints twice — like, do the same finger as two different entries — after you put the protector on. It sounds dumb but it makes the sensor way more reliable. Also, definitely go into settings and toggle on 'Touch Sensitivity' or it’ll feel laggy for sure.
Rarely post but saw this and had to chime in. For a glass protector that works with the ultrasonic sensor without the UV mess, get the ZAGG Glass XTR3 for S26 Plus. It uses a hexi-molecular structure designed for screen responsiveness.
> my main issue was the fingerprint sensor being hit-or-miss with glass covers. Look, dont waste your time with the cheap stick-on glass if you want the sensor to actually work. Listen, the Whitestone Dome Glass UV Gen 2 is the only way to go for that ultrasonic reader. Yea the UV light setup is a mess but its like bleeding brakes... you gotta do the prep or the job fails. Ive seen guys mess it up cuz they rush. Clean that glass three times. I mean REALLY clean it. The Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit is basically a thick shim that blocks the signal. Tbh it feels like trying to do fine engine work with winter gloves on. Just get the Whitestone and use the alignment jig properly. If you follow the specs it works PERFECTLY. Look at the instructions once then look at em again... dont wing it.
