Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a fast charger for the new Galaxy Z Fold 7? Im finally upgrading from my ancient S21 and I want to make sure I actually get those fast charging speeds everyone talks about.
I did some digging online and I keep seeing the official Samsung 45W wall plug pop up, but then I saw a bunch of people in a thread saying it doesnt actually stay at 45W for very long because of heat issues. Then I looked at the Anker 735 or something like that because people say GaN tech is way more efficient but some reviews mention it might not support the specific PPS protocol Samsung uses? Its all pretty confusing honestly and I dont want to buy something that just ends up trickle charging this massive battery.
I live in Chicago and I'm usually on a plane twice a month for work so I really need something that isnt a huge brick but can still top me off quickly between flights. My budget is around 50 or 60 bucks since the phone basically emptied my savings account lol. Should I just stick with the official one or is there a third party brand that actually works better for the Fold series specifically?

TL;DR: PPS protocol support is the secret sauce for Samsung. Tip: get Anker 313 Charger Ace 45W to save space. Quick question tho, you charging a laptop too or just the Fold?

Grab the Ugreen Nexode 45W GaN Charger! Its tiny for travel, handles PPS perfectly, and stays under budget. Tip: you gotta use a 5A cable for those max speeds, its fantastic!

Honestly, ive been a huge fan of Baseus for years now and they never let me down. I have used their chargers for my last few Folds and im super satisfied with how they work. No complaints at all. The official Samsung ones are fine, sure, but they are kinda bulky for travel if you ask me. If you want to save some cash, just look for any of the multi-port GaN chargers from Baseus. They handle the PPS protocol perfectly so youll definitely see that super fast charging icon pop up. Its way more convenient when youre traveling because you can charge your buds or a watch at the same time without carrying three different bricks. Definitely worth checking out their stuff... works well and feels way more premium than the price suggests.

I've been through a few Fold models now and honestly im really satisfied with how the newer fast charging tech handles the battery. It makes those short layovers way more manageable when you can actually see the percentage jump. Are you looking for a single port just for the phone, or do you need something that can handle a tablet or laptop at the same time? Also, does the actual weight of the brick matter much for your travel setup?
