So I finally grabbed the S24 FE for a trip this Friday but man I'm getting choice paralysis with these screen protectors. I've installed dozens of these over the years so I know how to avoid bubbles but I'm seeing conflicting stuff about the fingerprint sensor on this specific FE model. My logic was that any decent tempered glass should work fine but then I read somewhere that the sensor is finicky on this glass. I've got about 25 bucks left in the budget for this and I need it delivered fast. Is Spigen still the go-to or is there something better that actually fits the slightly larger bezels without lifting at the edges? I'm kinda worried I'll buy the wrong one and be stuck...
Spigen is still solid but amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 2-Pack is a better value for your budget. Its usually under 15 bucks and fits the larger bezels without any lifting. Since the FE uses an optical sensor, just re-scan your prints after install. It fixes the lag and saves you some cash for the trip.
honestly i saw your post earlier and wanted to chime in because i've been through the same choice paralysis many times. over the years i've learned that with these fe models you gotta be careful because people mix up the optical sensor with the ultrasonic ones on the flagship s24. in my experience the optical sensor is actually easier to work with if you get the right glass. i always go for Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit for Samsung Galaxy S24 FE because their alignment tray is basically foolproof and the adhesive they use is super high quality. if there is any haze in the glue the sensor wont read right but spigen is usually crystal clear and i trust it not to fail mid-trip. another one i've used for family builds is the ESR Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 3-Pack. it comes with a frame too and the glass is slightly rounded at the edges so it doesnt catch on your thumb when you swipe. i've tried many cheap brands but these two are the only ones i really trust for a long trip where you dont want the edge lifting and letting dust in. just make sure you toggle on that extra touch sensitivity in the display settings right after you install it. it makes a huge difference for the fingerprint response time. good luck on your trip btw... should be a solid phone for photos.
Regarding what #2 said about honestly i saw your post earlier and wanted to chime in... it is seriously the worst part of getting a new phone. I had a rough time with my last setup. Unfortunately, I tried to save a few bucks with a ESR Tempered Glass Screen Protector for S24 FE and it was honestly not as good as expected. The fit was slightly off around those larger bezels and it started peeling at the corners after a day. Just felt like a waste of money tbh. I ran into a few annoying problems:
Yep been there done that. Can confirm everything said above is spot on.
