so i finally pulled the trigger and upgraded from my old s21 ultra—honestly the battery was just completely shot and i couldnt take it anymore—and yeah the s26 ultra is huge but that camera is insane tbh. anyway i thought i knew my way around tech stuff but im actually kinda stumped with the charging situation because my old bricks arent hitting the "super fast charging 2.0" thing even though theyre rated for high wattage. i guess i need something with specific pps support for the full 45w? i dont want to just buy a random brick that gets hot so what are you guys actually using to get the max speeds without frying the battery...

Look, I'm no expert but I just looked into this last week because I was losing my mind wondering why my 100W power bank was barely charging my new S26 Ultra—it's honestly such a headache. It turns out the wattage doesn't matter as much as this specific thing called PPS (Programmable Power Supply) and specifically it needs to support 5 amps or else the phone just refuses to go full speed. I spent like four hours reading forum threads—so you don't have to—and basically, if the charger doesn't have that exact 'handshake' with the phone, you're stuck at 25W. Wait, no—I mean, it might even be slower if the cable is cheap. Here’s what I found are the best bets for actually getting that 2.0 speed:

  • The Samsung 45W USB-C Fast Charging Wall Charger is the boring but reliable choice—I grabbed one and it definitely works—plus it comes with the 5A cable which is actually super important.
  • If you want something smaller, the Anker 313 Charger Ace 45W is specifically designed for Samsung’s PPS standard and it’s way less bulky than the official one.
  • I also saw a lot of love for the UGREEN Nexode 45W Dual USB C GaN Charger—though wait, keep in mind if you plug two things in at once, the speed drops, so you won't get the full 45W for the phone anymore. It’s kind of a mess with all the different standards but those ones specifically mention the S-series compatibility.
