What screen protectors actually work well with the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner on the new Galaxy S26 Plus?

I just pre-ordered the S26 Plus and I'm upgrading from my ancient base Galaxy S20. The S20 served me well, but the battery life is absolutely garbage now and the screen size is just too small for my eyes these days. I really needed that upgrade for the larger display and the camera bump, plus a battery that actually lasts a full day. I don't mind spending a bit extra for good protection, but I don't want to throw money away on something that ruins the phone's usability.

Here is my main concern. I've been using standard tempered glass protectors for years on older devices. Never had an issue. But I've read that the newer ultrasonic fingerprint sensors under the glass on these modern Samsung screens are notoriously picky. Apparently, thick glass completely blocks the sensor or makes it super unreliable. I really hate the feel of those cheap plastic TPU film protectors—they feel rubbery and get scratched up almost immediately.

Are there any tempered glass brands that actually work consistently with the S26 Plus scanner? I saw some people talking about liquid UV adhesive kits like Whitestone Dome. They look like a massive pain to install and they are pretty pricey. Is that still the only reliable option for glass, or has the regular adhesive glass gotten better? I just want something that keeps the screen safe from drops without breaking the biometrics. What are you guys planning to buy?

oh man this is exactly my thing. ive been obsessing over the s26 plus specs since the leaks started dropping and honestly the screen protector situation is always such a HEADACHE with the ultrasonic sensors. i remember back when the s10 first came out and basically every glass protector broke the scanner... it was a total disaster. tbh im not 100% sure if the s26 plus is using the newest qualcomm 3d sonic sensor gen 3 or if they stuck with the gen 2 from the previous year, but i think i heard somewhere that the sensor area is actually slightly larger this time around. if thats true it might make glass protectors a bit easier to deal with but ngl the thickness is always the killer. iirc some people on the forums were saying that the standard adhesive ones still have that weird circular cutout or just fail half the time unless you redo your fingerprints like five times. not sure but i think the uv liquid stuff is still the gold standard for getting that perfect bond without the air gap that ruins the signal. anyway bottom line is i wouldnt trust a random cheap glass kit from amazon just yet... id wait to see if the s26 glass curvature is exactly the same as the s25 before pulling the trigger. i kind of wanna try those hybrid materials that are supposed to feel like glass but act like film but idk if they actually hold up to drops. its such a gamble when you just want that CLEAN look without sacrificing the biometrics...
