What are you guys actually using for S26 screen protectors these days? Ive been a Samsung user since the S8 and I've always stuck with Whitestone Dome or those AmFilm glass ones but this time the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is being so moody even after I re-registered my prints three times and upped the touch sensitivity in settings. It's driving me nuts lol.

I'm looking to spend maybe 40 bucks max since I'm in Chicago and everything is expensive enough as it is. Need something that doesn't mess with the clarity too much for photo editing. Is there a new brand I missed or did the glass get thicker this year?

The technical performance of the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass for Samsung S26 is absolutely fantastic! Honestly, the 0.3mm thickness is perfectly optimized for that ultrasonic sensor pulse... it wont mess with your color accuracy during photo editing either! I snagged mine for about 35 bucks online.

  • Superior 9H surface durability
  • High-transparency glass substrate
  • Integrated alignment system for perfect bonding

I once dropped my phone and the thick glass didnt absorb the impact at all. Be careful. I suggest:

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

> the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is being so moody Ugh, I feel that. I actually spent way too much on a fancy glass kit and it was a total waste of money. Unfortunately, it seems like the glass is just too thick this year for the ultrasonic pulse to get through consistently. Im a bit of a beginner when it comes to these newer sensors, but Ive learned the hard way that reliability beats max protection any day. I switched to the Samsung Official Galaxy S26 Screen Protector 2-Pack and its been way better. Its just a film, not glass, but it actually lets the fingerprint sensor work like its supposed to. Plus, for your photo editing, it doesnt have that weird prismatic effect some tempered glass gets. Its cheap too, usually under 20 bucks, which helps with those Chicago prices... honestly, dont bother with the 40 dollar glass stuff, its just gonna frustrate you.

> the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is being so moody even after I re-registered my prints three times Building on the earlier suggestion, I've spent way too much time looking into the micron thickness of these protectors lately. Basically, if the glass and adhesive layer exceeds a specific density threshold, the ultrasonic pulse just scatters too much. Most people in this thread are leaning toward the Spigen glass or the official Samsung films, but I think there is a better middle ground for photo editing clarity. I switched over to the ESR Armorite Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S26 about two months ago and I am genuinely satisfied. It's technically tempered glass but they have thinned out the silicon adhesive layer significantly compared to the older versions. It usually runs about 25 bucks so it fits your budget perfectly. The light transmission is super high... I haven't noticed any weird color shifts when I am doing my mobile edits in Lightroom. Ngl, if you're really fed up with the glass thickness, the Whitestone Premium Film for Samsung S26 is the way to go. It is a multi-layer EPU film rather than glass, so the sensor works 100% of the time. It doesn't have that gross rubbery feeling that the old S8-era films had. No complaints from my side after long-term use.
