Hey everyone! I just picked up the new Samsung Galaxy A56 5G, and as expected, it didn’t come with a charging brick in the box. I want to make sure I’m actually getting the fastest speeds possible without damaging the battery long-term. I've read that Samsung's fast charging requires a specific PPS (Programmable Power Supply) protocol to work correctly, which makes choosing a third-party plug a bit confusing. I’m torn between getting the official 25W Samsung plug or a more compact GaN charger from brands like Anker or Ugreen. Does the A56 actually support 45W charging, or is it capped at 25W? Which specific chargers are you guys using to get the best top-up times?
honestly i'd suggest Samsung 25W USB-C Wall Charger over the Anker 312 Charger (Ace, 25W). I tried the Anker but official feels safer... pretty sure its 25W max tho. be careful!!
This^ Also wanted to add that the A56 is hard-capped at 25W, so 45W is literally pointless. I'm pretty happy with the Samsung 25W PD Power Adapter (EP-T2510N)... it's like 15 bucks and highkey the safest bet. If u want a budget GaN option that's tiny, try the Spigen ArcStation Pro 27W GaN. It supports PPS and stays way cooler than standard bricks. Honestly works well. gl
I get why everyone is saying just grab a single 25W brick, but tbh I think that’s a bit of a waste if ur someone who likes to tinker with their setup. Instead of just buying what Samsung tells u to, I’d suggest going the DIY route with a multi-port station. I’ve been using a Baseus 65W GaN5 Pro Desktop Charger and it’s a game changer for a desk setup. Even tho the A56 is capped at 25W, having the extra ports for a watch or buds is way more practical. Also, if ur really worried about battery health, maybe grab a cheap USB-C power meter from Amazon? It lets u see the actual PPS voltage in real time so u know for sure it’s not frying ur battery—basically a self-service way to verify everything. I also tried the Belkin BoostCharge 30W USB-C GaN Wall Charger and it works perfectly fine with PPS. Just make sure the cable ur using is rated for the power too, people always forget that part lol. It’s not just about the brick!
Yo! Basically, PPS lets ur phone talk to the brick so it doesn't get TOO hot. It's highkey important cuz without it, ur speeds will drop. 1. The A56 is 25W max so 45W is overkill.
2. Honestly, just get any GaN charger from Ugreen or maybe Anker.
3. I've been so happy with mine... it works well and stays cool. Seriously, you cant go wrong with those brands! 👍
I went through this last year when I was sick of paying the "Samsung tax" lol. I compared a few options:
- UGREEN Nexode 30W GaN Charger: Best value, supports PPS.
- Anker 511 Charger (Nano 3): Super tiny, slightly more expensive.
Honestly, the Ugreen is the winner for budget. The A56 is capped at 25W anyway, so 45W is just overkill. gl! 👍
