So I'm trying to buy a new blender because my old one literally started smoking when I tried to make a smoothie this morning lol. I've been looking at those fancy Ninja ones on Amazon and the price is $189 right now but I swear it was $165 like two days ago. It’s so frustrating how they just change it whenever they want! My friend told me there are these "extensions" you can put on your browser—I think I use Google Chrome, the one with the colorful circle—that show you the history of the price? Or tell you if it's cheaper at Walmart or Target?
I'm really not a tech person at all so I have no idea where to start or if these are even safe to use. Like do I have to pay for them? My logic was that if I can save $30 then it's worth it but I dont want to accidentally download a virus or something that tracks my credit card. I've heard names like Camel something? Or maybe Honey? But I don't know if they actually work for Amazon specifically or if they just give you coupons which usually dont work anyway. I was trying to look it up on Google but there are so many different ones and they all look kind of official and I got overwhelmed and just closed the tab.
I am really confused about how it even stays on the page. Does it just pop up? Do I have to click something every time I look at a product? I'm worried it's gonna slow down my laptop because it's already a bit old and the fan makes a loud noise sometimes when I have too many things open. I dont want to break my computer just to save a few bucks on a blender.
I'm in Cincinnati and I really need to get this ordered by Friday so it gets here before my sister visits because she's super into health stuff and I promised her we'd make green juices. I have about $200 set aside for this but obviously I'd rather spend $150 if I can. If anyone could explain how these work like I'm five years old that would be great because I am totally lost and dont want to get ripped off by the Amazon algorithms...
Saw this today and totally get the frustration. Unfortunately, I had issues with those big name extensions before... they were not as good as expected and really slowed my laptop down. Kinda disappointing honestly. I'd just stick with CamelCamelCamel for the price charts. They are way more reliable for Amazon. Regarding the blender, just get any of the basic Ninja models from that brand, you can't go wrong.
Wait, which specific Ninja model is it? Some sale cycles are way more predictable than others. I dealt with this same frustration last year until I realized you dont need heavy extensions that make your laptop fan spin like crazy. TL;DR: Use web alerts instead of plugins to keep your laptop fast and safe. I set a target price in Price Drop Catch and just forgot about it, got the alert like 3 weeks later and saved $60.
TL;DR: Skip the heavy browser plugins and use a price tracker instead so your old laptop doesnt struggle. ^ This. Also, having the price history basically proves those Amazon sales are usually on a cycle, so you dont have to stress about missing a deal. I've been super happy just sitting back and waiting for the alerts to hit my inbox instead of constantly refreshing pages. It works well and I havent had any issues with my computer slowing down since I ditched the bulky extensions. Way easier for your peace of mind honestly. Its really satisfying when you finally get that email saying the price hit your target. If you're tired of manually checking for sales, PriceDropCatch just sends you an alert the second the price drops.
