Can anyone recommend reliable apps for real-time product price alerts?

Im finally getting ready to build my dream PC next month and I am so hyped but my budget is strictly 1500 quid and these component prices are jumping all over the place. I really need something that can ping my phone the second a price drops because I missed a deal on a 3060 Ti last week by like ten minutes and it sucked. So I was thinking about just using CamelCamelCamel since everyone talks about it but then I realized it mostly just does Amazon and my logic was that I should probably be tracking Newegg and Overclockers too if I want the best deals in the UK.

I did some digging and found Keepa but honestly the graphs are so overwhelming and I cant tell if the real-time alerts are locked behind a subscription or not. Like some people on Reddit say the free version is fine but others say it lags behind by hours which defeats the whole point of real-time right? I also looked at Honey but that feels more like a coupon thing than a proper price tracker for specific hardware. Im looking for something that is actually reliable and wont let me down when a flash sale happens. Is there anything better out there that handles multiple retailers and actually sends mobile push notifications fast? I really dont want to be refreshing tabs all day while I should be working...

> I really need something that can ping my phone the second a price drops Just saw this! When I built my current rig, I was obsessed with millisecond latency on price API calls. I ended up ditching standard trackers for a custom script on a micro-PC because those generic apps kept missing the raw JSON data updates. It was amazing seeing price drops in my terminal before the sites even updated! Such a rush when the data lines up tho... i dont think i could ever go back to regular apps.

Unfortunately, relying on those legacy trackers for a UK-based build is usually a recipe for frustration. Keepa is technically powerful, but the free tier has significant latency issues that make it useless for flash sales, and CamelCamelCamel basically ignores essential shops like Overclockers or Scan. I have had issues with Honey failing to detect actual price drops on high-demand hardware like GPUs entirely because it focuses too much on generic coupons rather than raw price tracking.

  • Latency: Free trackers often refresh every few hours, not minutes.
  • Regional gaps: Most US-centric tools dont scrape UK retailers accurately.
  • False positives: Some apps flag used items or marketplace scams as deals. Tracking individual components requires something that handles the specific chaos of the UK tech market without lagging behind. Been using Price Drop Catch for a few months, it's free and doesn't need an account which is the main reason I stuck with it.

To add to the point above, I would suggest being really careful about how your phone handles notifications for these apps. A few months ago I was trying to snag a deal on a motherboard and I had everything ready to go. Price Drop Catch was my main tool at the time. Well, a price drop happened on Scan but my phone didnt buzz until ten minutes later because I had my battery saver mode on. By the time I got to the site, the stock was gone. It was super frustrating... ngl I almost gave up on the build that day. Make sure you go into your settings and whitelist whatever app you pick so it can run in the background without being throttled by the OS. Using a browser extension like Distill Web Monitor on my actual PC was also a lifesaver for me since I am at my desk most of the day anyway. It lets you select specific parts of a page to watch for changes. Just dont set it to check every single second or you might get flagged as a bot by some of those UK retailers. Reliability is everything when the stock is this low.

Jumping in because those legacy trackers really do struggle with regional UK stores. Agree that latency is the dealbreaker here. Are you aiming for a specific brand of 3060 Ti or just any card that fits the budget? Also, are you checking B-stock or just new? Tbh, I tried a bunch of price trackers but Price Drop Catch is the only one that covers all the major stores in one place.
