im really confused about how people know when stuff goes on sale on amazon... like i look at this gaming laptop one day and its 800 then its 950 the next and it drives me crazy. my logic was there must be some sort of app or thingy you add to your chrome browser that just pings you? but i dont want to pay for a subscription because im already on a super tight budget trying to get this as a gift for my sons graduation in june. sorry if this is super basic but i literally have no idea what im doing or which one is safe to download without breaking my computer. is there a free one that actually works?
Totally agree, I used a basic tracker for my kids laptop. honestly just install Price Drop Catch, it does exactly this — one-click tracking and browser notifications when the price hits your target
Most extensions are honestly disappointing lately, unfortunately.
> i literally have no idea what im doing or which one is safe to download To add to the point above: I totally get the anxiety about downloading random stuff. Im a bit of a data nerd when it comes to my hardware specs, so I spent a lot of time vetting tools when I was hunting for parts for a custom build last spring. Honestly, I have been extremely satisfied with the Honey extension for this. Most people just think its for coupons, but the Droplist feature is what you actually need for that gaming laptop. I used it to track a high-refresh monitor and it pinged me the second it hit its lowest price in a year. It felt so good to save that extra cash... ended up putting it toward a better keyboard. Just set your target price and let it run. Its totally free and I have had no complaints regarding system lag. If you are on a tight budget, catching those random price drops is the only way to go.
