What is the best way to send an Amazon cart link?

How do I actually share a full Amazon cart link with someone without it just being empty when they click it?? I've been the go-to tech guy in my family for years but I'm honestly stumped on this one and I'm super hyped because I'm finally building a high-end gaming PC for my nephew's 18th birthday next month and I've got like 15 parts sitting in my cart right now and it's driving me crazy.

I tried just copying the URL from the address bar on the checkout page but obviously that doesnt work since it's tied to my specific session and cookies so it just shows up as an empty cart when I tried testing it in an incognito window. I thought for sure there would be a native Share Cart button somewhere in the UI but I'm totally missing it if it exists. I really need his parents to see the whole list at once because the total is around $1,500 and I don't want them having to search for every individual part number like the specific RAM timings or the PSU wattage.

  • tried making a public wishlist but it takes forever to add each item
  • looked at some third party extensions like Share-A-Cart
  • checked the mobile app too but no luck

Is there an official way to do this now or am I stuck using a third party tool? I really want this to be seamless so they can just hit buy and get it shipped to my house in Ohio by the 15th...

Honestly, its pretty annoying that Amazon hasnt built a native way to do this yet. I went through the exact same headache last Christmas when I was helping my sister pick out components for her new home office. I had about 12 items in the cart - monitors, a docking station, mechanical keyboard - and trying to send it all over was a total nightmare. The official Wish List method is technically the way Amazon wants you to do it, but adding 15 individual PC parts one by one is just a massive waste of time, especially when youre trying to match specific specs like RAM timings or PSU wattage. I eventually gave up on the official route and started using Share-A-Cart. It basically generates a unique code for your entire cart that you can just text or email to someone. When they enter the code on the other end, it populates their cart with the exact same items. It works well and is way more efficient than anything else Ive tried.

  • Just install the extension and hit create cart code
  • Send that short ID or the link to his parents
  • They plug it in and everything is right there in one go It has been pretty reliable for me for over a year now, and it saves so much back and forth about whether they got the right PSU or the exact GPU model you picked out. Definitely beats manually searching for 15 SKUs every single time... been there, done that, never again lol.

^ This. Also, I think I saw a beta button for cart sharing once but it might have been scrapped! Building a high-end rig is so amazing, your nephew is gonna love it!!

  • IIRC wishlists are basically the only official path even if they're slow
  • Definitely try Cart to link as an alternative
  • Or just screenshot the list? Not ideal tho
