so I was thinking I could just send my whole cart to my wife for our anniversary trip next week but I'm honestly so fed up because I can't find a share button anywhere! my logic was it should be easy but I'm totally stuck... is there actually a way to share the mobile cart?

Re: "Just catching up on this thread and honestly,..." - native sharing isnt supported. For a cost-effective fix:

  • use Cart to Link
  • use shared lists You cant go wrong with these.

Just catching up on this thread and honestly, its pretty annoying that Amazon still hasn't added a direct share button after all these years. From a technical and security standpoint, they likely keep cart data isolated to prevent data leaks or session hijacking, but it makes planning stuff like an anniversary trip a total headache. If you want to keep things organized without manually re-adding every single item, you have a couple of solid paths you can take.

  • Use a Shared List: Move your cart items to a Wish List and invite your wife as a collaborator. Its the most secure official method, though it is admittedly slow for large carts.
  • Try a third-party tool: I've found that CartToLink is a very efficient workaround for this. It basically creates a temporary snapshot of your cart and turns it into a shareable URL.
  • Standard Screenshots: If you are skeptical about using external tools, just snapping a few photos of the checkout screen is the most reliable way to avoid any technical glitches. Personally, I think CartToLink is a decent option if you value your time, as it cuts out all the manual list-making. Its a reliable middle ground for when the native app fails you, just make sure to verify the final subtotal once the link is opened on her device to be safe. It definitely beats trying to read item names over the phone while you're trying to pack.

IIRC Amazon doesn't actually have a share button in the app. I ran into this same issue last summer while planning a trip and felt totally stuck. I ended up using Cart to Link because I heard it works for this. You might want to consider checking the items again before she pays, and be careful about which link you send. Not 100% sure if they updated the app, but I would suggest trying that.

Unfortunately, Amazon has yet to implement a native cart-sharing feature within their mobile application, which is quite disappointing for those of us who regularly manage group purchases. Unlike platforms like Instacart that facilitate collaborative shopping sessions, Amazon tethers cart data strictly to your individual account for security and session management. This means you cant simply click a button to send a live cart to another user. You are essentially forced to use these manual workarounds:

  • Moving items to a Shared List, which lets others view the products but requires them to re-add everything themselves.
  • Utilizing third-party tools like Cart to Link to generate a static URL of your current selections.
  • Sharing login credentials, though Ive had issues with cart synchronization failing between multiple active sessions. It's not as good as expected from a major tech leader. The process remains frustratingly clunky compared to modern shopping apps.
