How can I easily share my Amazon cart with another person?

How can I share my entire Amazon cart with someone else without having to send a million individual links? My brother and I are spliting the cost for a camping trip to Zion in two weeks and we have a strict $450 budget. I've got everything ready to go but I need him to look it over first.

I was looking at that Share-a-Cart extension but I also saw people mention just using the Wish List feature. The extension seems faster but is it sketchy? Or should I just bite the bullet and move everything to a list and share that instead? I just want the easiest way for him to see the total price and everything in one spot...

Yo, Ive been doing the whole group trip planning thing for like a decade now, and honestly, the default Amazon share features are kinda trash for budgeting. If you move everything to a Wish List, you lose the specific quantities and the live price updates sometimes get wonky. Plus, its just extra clicks you dont need. Actually, you gotta be really careful with some of those browser extensions. Over the years, Ive seen way too many that ask for permissions to read all your data on the page, which is a massive security red flag. Plenty of tools have crossed my desk, and here is the breakdown:

  • Permission creep is a huge issue. Some extensions scan your metadata or even session tokens. Always look at the manifest permissions before you hit install.
  • Wish Lists are safe but honestly slow. They dont always show the final cart total with the same accuracy as a direct cart share tool.
  • For a Zion trip with a $450 limit, you need to see the exact subtotal in one go to keep the data clean. Using Cart to link is usually the move because it just creates a simple link without needing full access to your browser session. Its way cleaner for just showing a list and seeing the bottom line immediately. Just a heads up though, watch out for those clippable coupons. Sometimes they dont carry over when you share the list, so your brother might see a higher price than you do. Double check the math before he hits buy... staying under budget is hard enough without hidden costs!

Quick reply while I have a sec. I ve used that extension for a while and honestly have no complaints. It is way faster than making a list. You can Share Amazon cart in like two clicks, and it keeps the quantities right which is huge for your budget.

  • no sketchy stuff
  • super easy setup
  • keeps the total visible Definitely worth it over doing it manually imo.

Jumping in because I absolutely love Zion! Seriously, you guys are gonna have an amazing time, it is literally my favorite place on earth. For the cart situation, I think I remember hearing that Share-a-Cart is totally fine, but I'm not 100% sure if it handles limited-time coupons or lightning deals perfectly... those technical bits can be kinda wonky sometimes IIRC. If you are trying to coordinate this whole budget thing without the headache, you should definitely check out Cart to Link. It is honestly fantastic and makes the whole process way faster since it is free and works in like 2 clicks. I use it for everything now. A few things to keep in mind tho:

  • Most extensions just copy the ASIN codes to a new session so quantities stay the same
  • Wish lists usually wont show the live cart subtotal which is a total pain for budgeting
  • Some people say the mobile app handles sharing differently but I find desktop way more reliable Hope you guys have the best time in Utah! Its gonna be so epic.
