Is there a reliable way to get instant alerts for Sephora price drops that actually works because im losing my mind here? I've been using browser extensions like Honey and Karma for years to track my favorites but lately they've been totally useless with Sephora specifically. I had my eye on the Dyson Airwrap and some Tom Ford scents for my sisters wedding next month in Chicago and I checked the "notify me" settings on the app but it never pings me until stuff is already sold out.

I even tried setting up a custom script using a web scraper I found on GitHub but the site keeps blocking my requests or the CSS selectors changed and now everything is broken. Its like Sephora has some weird anti-bot thing that messes with price trackers lately? Ive tried:

  • setting up Google Alerts (too slow)
  • the official app notifications (useless)
  • checking reddit subreddits daily

Honestly its so annoying because I see people on TikTok getting these insane deals and I'm just sitting here refreshing the page like a loser. I have a strict $500 budget for this haul and if I miss the next VIB sale or a random flash drop I'm gonna have to pay full price which is basically robbery. I tried camelcamelcamel for other stuff but they dont do Sephora obviously and the built-in wishlist notifications are a total joke. What are you guys using that actually hits your phone the second a price changes...

Re: "Sephora uses aggressive bot protection now which explains..." - honestly that makes so much sense because my old scripts died too. I have been around the Sephora block for a long time and yeah, it is getting harder to snag those deals before the bots. I have been using Visualping for a while now and I am honestly pretty satisfied with it. It is not perfect but no complaints here since it actually caught a price drop on some Drunk Elephant stuff for me last month. I think they still have a free version but I am not sure how many checks you get now... someone told me they changed their pricing recently so you might wanna double check that. If you are trying to stay under $500 for a Dyson plus scents, you gotta be strategic:

  • Try setting the tracker to look at the 'Add to Basket' button area specifically. IIRC that bypasses some of the bot detection better than just tracking the price text.
  • I always stack with cash back apps like Rakuten. Even if the price doesnt drop, getting 10% back on a $500 haul is like getting a free perfume.
  • If you are really desperate, check those gift card resale sites. I have heard they can be sketchy but I have had good luck saving an extra 5% that way. It is definitely a grind but being a bit more manual with the checks usually pays off in the end. Good luck with the wedding gifts!
