Im trying to prep for a camping trip in the Cascades this weekend and have like $300 of gear in my cart right now but I really want my roommate to check it over before I hit buy.
I saw stuff about Amazon Household but that feels like overkill for a one-time thing and those 3rd party extensions seem kinda sketchy. Is there a way to actually share the whole cart directly so he can see everything at once, maybe through a link or a shared list, or am I stuck sending like ten individual product links for him to open one by one?
> am I stuck sending like ten individual product links Unfortunately yeah. I tried a shared list for my setup once and it was a mess... just stick to sending individual links.
Unfortunately there isnt a built-in way to just send a live cart link, which is super annoying. Been in this exact spot when I was trying to coordinate a huge order for some home office upgrades last year. Honestly, it was such a letdown. My plan was to find a simple way to show my partner everything at once so we could stay on budget. I tried the whole collaborative list thing that Amazon offers, but it didn't work nearly as well as I expected. The biggest issue for me was that the list view is totally different from the checkout view.
Regarding what #1 said about "> am I stuck sending like ten individual..." - totally agree! I tried using a shared list for a huge Sierra trip once and it was a total disaster! Such a nightmare! Definitely watch out tho because if your roommate clicks "add to cart" from a list, it often resets the size or color selection. Youll end up with the wrong gear right before you leave! Seriously, stick to those direct links.
Bump - same question here
@Reply #2 - good point! That size and color reset is a total killer, especially when youre picky about gear specs. Honestly, this whole thing reminds me of a huge ordeal I had with my cousin last year when we were gear-shopping for a trek. I had a whole cart full of Black Diamond climbing stuff and some Patagonia layers, but then we started looking at the cheaper alternatives like Teton Sports or whatever. It turned into this massive brand comparison debate that lasted all night.
Bookmarked, thanks!
