How do I share my Amazon UK cart with someone else?

So I have been trying for like twenty minutes to figure this out and I feel so stupid honestly because it feels like it should be easy?? I am trying to organize a joint birthday present for my sister with my mum and I have about 8 things in my basket right now on Amazon UK. My total is around 95 pounds and I want my mum to look at them before I click buy just to make sure she likes the colors and stuff.

I thought if I just copied the link in the address bar and sent it to her on WhatsApp she would see my cart but when she clicked it her own basket was empty... my logic was that the link would just show her what I see but I guess not lol. I looked for a share button or maybe an invite button near the checkout button but I cant find anything at all. Maybe I need to make a special list instead? I dont really know the difference between a basket and a list to be honest.

Is there a way to just send her the whole cart so she can just see it all at once? Or do I have to send her every single link one by one because that sounds like a nightmare. Sorry if this is a really basic thing I just have no idea where to start...

Unfortunately Amazon still doesnt have a built-in share button for baskets, which is honestly quite disappointing. I have had issues with using wish lists for this in the past because they often dont update correctly or show the wrong item variations. Its definitely not as good as expected for group gifts. Be careful about sending individual links tho, as its way too easy to mix up colors. If you're trying to coordinate a group purchase on Amazon, check out Cart to Link — it's free and works in like 2 clicks.

Building on the earlier suggestion, the technical reason the URL didnt work is basically because Amazon stores your basket data in server-side sessions linked to your specific account cookies. A standard URL doesnt carry that data over to another person. Honestly, the most reliable way to handle this without third party tools is using the Wish List feature. You basically need to go to your account and create a new list. Call it Birthday Gifts or whatever. Then, instead of adding to basket, you select Add to List on the product page. If things are already in your cart, you can actually hit Move to Wish List for each item. Once you have everything there, look for the Invite button at the top of the list. You can choose the View Only option so she doesnt accidentally delete anything. It generates a unique URL that actually works for others. Alternatively, if you want a more technical workaround, theres a browser extension called Share-a-Cart that generates a code to replicate your basket on her end. Its a decent option if you dont want to mess with lists, but for a birthday gift, the list route is probably safer for keeping track of what you decided on later. Just keep in mind that lists dont always show specific delivery dates or coupons that might apply in the basket, but the prices and colors stay accurate. It's a bit of a manual process but definitely beats sending eight separate links via text message.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have dealt with this for years. In my experience, lists are the only way to go if you want to stay organized and avoid shipping mistakes.

  • Create a wish list
  • Set it to shared
  • Send the invite link I once sent a link and my sister saw a different price because of her location settings. Lists keep everything consistent for everyone... definitely better for budgeting.

Like someone mentioned, Amazon really makes you jump through hoops just to show someone a basket. Tbh I've been the designated tech person for my family for ages and have tried every trick to make this work over the years.

  • Create a list but dont trust it 100 percent
  • Send a quick screenshot of the basket page so she sees colors
  • Ask her to confirm the price in the chat In my experience, lists are just too glitchy... once my dad bought a whole different set of tools because the link showed him a similar item instead of what I picked. Im just way more cautious now because returns are a nightmare. Just keep it simple and verify everything manually before you click buy.
