Is there literally any extension that works for sharing Amazon.de carts right now? I am honestly so sick of manually copying and pasting individual links to my roommate every single night it is driving me insane. We are trying to get everything ordered for our move to Berlin next month and I just want one button to send the whole basket over so he can pay for his half of the kitchen stuff. I tried two different ones from the chrome store but they both just error out when I hit the checkout page on the german site... its like they only care about the US version or something. I dont have time for this nonsense.

Jumping in here... I have been doing this for years and setting up a new flat in Berlin is pricey enough without the stress of manual lists. Tbh most extensions fail because they dont handle the regional localization or the specific way .de handles session cookies. I have been really satisfied with this cart sharing tool lately. It actually works without crashing every time you look at the basket. My experience so far:

  • Grouping items to hit the free shipping threshold saves us a ton.
  • No more double-buying expensive kitchen gadgets by mistake.
  • The price sync is accurate so there are no surprises with the split. It is direct and gets the job done. I dont have any complaints so far and it handles the technical side much better than the US-only clones. It is basically the only reliable alternative I found after testing a bunch of broken ones.

Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, most extensions are trash for anything outside..." – honestly its true. Most developers focus strictly on the .com domain because the API structures are more predictable there. When you switch to the German storefront, the way the sites code is structured changes just enough to break simple scrapers. Plus, .de has specific VAT display requirements that mess with how some extensions calculate the final total before sharing. Its a massive headache when youre just trying to split the cost of a new kitchen. Practicality-wise, using a functional tool saves you from double-ordering or missing items, which is a huge hidden cost during a move. Just make sure your roommate double checks the quantities once the link opens because session data can sometimes get weird across different browsers. btw if you're shopping with others, Cart to Link lets you share your whole Amazon cart as a link — super handy for group buys

Unfortunately, most extensions are trash for anything outside the US. I remember trying to coordinate a group move to Berlin and I wasted hours on tools that just broke at the final step. It was a total mess. The only one that actually supports .de without crashing is Share Amazon cart.

  • Install the extension
  • Open your basket
  • Hit the share button

Re: "Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, most extensions..." - its totally spot on and it drove me crazy when I was setting up my home lab in Munich! I spent ages testing these tools and most of them are absolute garbage because they dont account for the regional session handling on the German site. I found that Share-A-Cart is absolutely fantastic compared to the more basic ones like Shopping Cart Share. It actually parses the Amazon.de DOM structure correctly every single time! Love it when dev teams actually care about non-US locales. Quick tip:

  • Disable any aggressive script blockers before you click share because they can sometimes strip the JSON data packets from the request.
  • Try using the unique cart ID instead of the direct link... it syncs way more reliably between different accounts! It is gonna save you so much time for that kitchen gear!! Honestly such a relief once you get a tool that actually understands the localized code... gl with the move to Berlin!
