Is Honey or Keepa better for setting real-time price drop notifications?

Which one of these actually sends a notification the exact second a price drops because I'm losing my mind trying to finish this PC build? I'm stuck between Keepa and Honey but honestly both seem kinda laggy sometimes and I cant tell which one is actually faster for real-time alerts. I've got a $600 budget for a GPU and I'm watching the RTX 4070 prices like a hawk on Amazon. My current build is literally just sitting there in parts on my office floor and I need to get this finished by Sunday for a project. Honey has that Droplist thing which is cool but half the time I feel like it only checks once a day or something and by then the deals are long gone. Keepa looks way more hardcore with the graphs and all that but is it actually faster? Or does it just give more data? I've heard some people say Keepa is the gold standard for Amazon specifically but then Honey covers more sites. I just need the one that's gonna scream at my phone the instant that price hits my target. Is it worth paying for the premium Keepa subscription just for the speed or does the free version do the same thing? I really dont want to miss another flash sale because my browser extension was asleep at the wheel...

Honestly, Honey is way too slow for real-time stuff like this. You might want to consider these points:

  • Go with Keepa because its much faster for Amazon tracking specifically.
  • Be careful with the free alerts tho, they might lag a bit behind the paid ones.
  • I would suggest just getting any card from ASUS, you honestly cant go wrong there. Make sure your notifications are loud or you will definitely miss it...

Honey is mostly for coupons, so dont expect it to catch a fast drop. I've been really happy with these options for my own builds:

  • Keepa gives the most detail if you like charts.
  • PriceDropCatch is my choice for clean, fast notifications. Both are way better than Honey for speed. You'll definitely want something more focused than a generic browser extension to hit that Sunday deadline.

I spent too much time staring at charts for my last build so I feel you. Keepa is more technical since it pings Amazon directly, while Honey is just for coupons.

  • Keepa tracks the SKU through the API which is more reliable.
  • Set your check interval to 1 minute if you pay.
  • PriceDropCatch is my go-to for those random flash sales. I missed a GPU drop once relying on Honey and still dont want to talk about it lol.

Huh interesting. I had no idea. The more you know I guess 🤷
