How can I actually get reliable price drop alerts for specific Nike shoes, especially the Dunk Lows?
I have been trying to track a few pairs for my brothers birthday coming up in about three weeks and my budget is strictly under 110 bucks so I really need to catch a break. I did some digging and saw people recommending the Sole Retriever app and some Twitter monitor accounts but honestly it's all so confusing. Sole Retriever has a waitlist or a subscription I think? And the Twitter accounts just post everything and my phone ends up buzzing every two minutes with stuff I dont care about.
I tried using the regular Nike app notifications too but they are kind of a joke and only send me marketing stuff instead of actual price changes on my favorites list. Plus I'm in Chicago so the local stock vanishes in like seconds if there is a restock or a price cut. Is there a way to set up something that only pings me if a specific size drops in price? I feel like I am missing a simple tool or a browser extension that actually works for the SNKRS side of things too...

Look, the official Nike app is basically just a marketing engine... it wont actually help you snag a deal. I've been doing this for years and the biggest mistake people make is relying on those noisy Twitter monitors that just spam affiliate links for stuff nobody wants. If you're hunting Dunks under 110, you're competing with everyone else in Chicago too, so speed is everything. In my experience, the only way to beat the crowds without paying for a cook group or waiting on a Sole Retriever invite is using a direct page monitor. I usually suggest something like Slickdeals for general price tracking, but for a specific pair of Nikes, you want a browser extension called Distill Web Monitor. You basically just select the price element on the product page and it'll alert you the second the number changes. Its way more reliable than an app because it checks the source code directly. I've tried many different tools over the years and most of them are too slow for hyped releases. If you want to keep it simple, check out SoleLinks too since they have a way better filtering system than the raw Twitter feeds. But honestly, if you set up a direct monitor on your PC, you'll see the price drop before the notification even hits most people's phones. Just make sure you have your payment info saved so you can check out instantly because a sub-110 Dunk wont sit for more than a couple minutes.

I totally get the frustration with those noisy twitter bots! Last year i was hunting for dunks for my nephew and almost lost my mind with the constant buzzing. I finally found a few ways that felt way more secure than giving random apps my info.
- Karma: This thing is amazing for specific sizes! I set it to ping me only when the 10.5 dropped and it actually worked on the Nike site. Its fantastic because it stays quiet until the price hits your target.
- Google Shopping: This is so reliable! You just track the product page in your browser. It keeps everything inside your google account which i love for safety. Its not as fast as the pro bots but its free and doesnt spam you with marketing junk. Basically stick to browser tools instead of sketchy mobile apps. Good luck getting those for your brother!!
