Look Ive been doing the purchasing for our local youth center for like five years now and Ive usually just hacked together a way to share the cart but honestly Im hitting a wall. Amazon keeps changing their UI and now the old Share-A-Cart extension I was using is acting all buggy and wont sync half the items properly anymore. Its super frustrating because Im trying to get our board to approve a $1,200 order for the summer kickoff next month here in Seattle and I really cant just send 40 individual links in a spreadsheet like some kind of caveman.

I know my way around most browser tools and dev consoles but I just want something that works out of the box without me having to fix the session cookies every time. Here is what Im looking for:

  • has to work on Chrome or Brave since thats what our treasurer uses
  • must be able to export the whole cart as a single link
  • needs to be secure enough that Im not handing over my entire search history to some random dev
  • preferably free or at least cheap because our budget is tight

Every time I try a new one it either fails to grab the quantities or messes up the variants like the wrong color shirts. Has anyone found a reliable one lately that actually handles the current Amazon layout? Im losing my mind over here trying to get this done by Friday...

Unfortunately most tools are buggy now. I had issues with everything until finding Cart to Link, which handles variants way better. TL;DR: It actually works for the current Amazon layout.

Just saw this and had to jump in because I am obsessed with efficiency! Honestly, you should give Share-A-Cart another look. They just pushed a massive update that addresses exactly those variant and quantity bugs you mentioned. The way they prioritize security by never touching your session cookies or personal login info is amazing... everything basically stays local. For your youth center setup, this is fantastic because:

  • Its totally free for the core sharing features
  • The treasurer wont need to install anything to view the link
  • It works flawlessly on Brave and Chrome I use it for all my procurement work and its a total lifesaver for getting board sign-offs. Works every time. Just make sure you clear your cache and grab the latest version from the store. It makes the whole process feel professional instead of like a spreadsheet mess!

In my experience managing procurement, I eventually moved past basic scrapers. My current process involves:

  • Session-persistent extensions
  • Robust background scripts This shift finally solved my sync issues.
