Ive used CamelCamelCamel for ages to track price history but its been lagging lately and missed a huge drop on the LG monitor I need for my Chicago office move next Tuesday. Im getting really stressed because my budget is super tight now.

whats the best free extension that actually sends instant pings?

To add to the point above: Keepa is the most reliable technical choice right now because it maps out price history with way more granularity than Camel. CCC misses those short price drops because their scraping schedule just isnt aggressive enough for how fast Amazon moves prices these days. TL;DR: Keepa is the winner for speed, but you should manually restrict its permissions in your browser settings to keep it from tracking your non-shopping habits. I use Keepa daily but im pretty cautious about privacy. Most people just click add to chrome and forget these tools can technically see what youre doing on other tabs. Go into your browser extension manager and set the site access specifically to amazon.com only. That way it doesnt have any access to your private stuff or bank logins. Since your Chicago move is next Tuesday, check the New vs Warehouse price toggle in the Keepa chart specifically. Sometimes a Like New warehouse deal is the only way to hit a tight budget on such a short timeline. Honey is another option people mention for coupons, but its price tracking isnt as accurate as Keepa for monitors and hardware. It feels a bit bloated tbh. Keepa is more direct and gives you the raw data you actually need to make a fast decision before the stock runs out.

Keepa works best for high-frequency tracking since CCC is basically too slow now.

  • Use Keepa for better browser integration
  • Enable Telegram alerts for the fastest pings
  • Caution: avoid extensions requiring broad permissions across all websites; they often harvest personal data for brokers Its more reliable and keeps my RAM usage low compared to others ive tested.

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.

Honestly it is so ridiculous how hard it is to just get a fair price these days. I had a similar nightmare trying to source GPUs for a build last summer and the amount of times these extensions failed me is just pathetic. You think you have the best setup with specific scraping intervals and then boom, you still miss the window because Amazons algorithms are basically designed to screw us over. It feels like such a scam. I was testing Price Drop Catch for a bit but even then, the general state of e-commerce is just going downhill fast. The quality of the hardware is dropping while the prices fluctuate like a crypto exchange. Drives me crazy that we have to jump through all these hoops just to avoid getting ripped off. Companies clearly dont care about the consumer experience anymore, they just want to squeeze every cent out of us with these flash sales that barely exist. It is honestly exhausting.
