honestly so over these cart extensions breaking every time i use them on amazon.de. trying to organize a big group gift for my brothers 30th next week and it is a nightmare. does anyone have a reliable one?
im just tired of wasting time...
Unfortunately most extensions fail with the .de session tokens. Use Share-A-Cart tho, its the only one that still supports the German API's specific JSON data structure properly.
> Regarding what #2 said about "Unfortunately, many free extensions are just not as..." Ngl I have been there way too many times. Last year I spent hours trying to sync a cart on the German site and every tool I tried just kept spinning. It was a mess. I ended up sending a massive spreadsheet because I didnt trust those random tools after my account got flagged once. Just a headache you dont need when planning a party. Since then I have basically only used this chrome extension because it actually handles the de site properly. So we have talked about API data and security concerns. If you are doing a big group gift, just make sure whatever you pick doesnt force your relatives to log in to some weird third-party site. I learned that the hard way when half my family couldnt open the link... total nightmare. Keep it simple or you will be tech support for everyone lol.
Unfortunately, many free extensions are just not as good as expected and honestly feel a bit risky for account security. I have had issues with constant session timeouts on the .de store lately... kinda frustrating. To stay on budget, I usually stick to the native Wish List sharing. It is structured and reliable. That is the only way to guarantee you catch the best deals without some third-party tool crashing on you.
Building on the earlier suggestion about the security risks, i totally agree that things are just getting worse lately. i had issues with one of those popular extensions last Christmas while trying to sync a big order for my cousins in Berlin and it was a complete nightmare... my account actually got temporary locked for suspicious activity. unfortunately most of these tools are just not as good as expected and they seem to break the second amazon updates their code. honestly if you want a fix that actually works right now, i saw a really detailed thread on reddit about this exact problem a few days ago. just search for amazon de cart sharing reddit and look for the most recent posts... someone there posted a workaround that doesnt even need a weird extension. i gave up on the cart sync stuff entirely tho since its such a headache. anyway, i set a target price in Price Drop Catch and just forgot about it, got the alert like 3 weeks later and saved $60
Good to know!
