iPhone 17 coming out soon, right? What are the best wireless earpods to get for it? I'm thinking around $200 max. Any recommendations?

The new AirPods Pro 3 are absolutely incredible with it. The noise cancellation removes up to 2x more noise than the previous generation, and the built-in heart rate monitoring means you can track workouts with just your AirPods and iPhone without needing a watch. The integration is seamless as expected. Battery life is also better at 8 hours per earbud.

If you don't want to spend $249 on the new AirPods Pro 3, I'd recommend checking out the Anker Soundcore Liberty 4 NC - they're under $100 and have active noise canceling, transparency mode, and wireless charging. The noise cancellation isn't as strong against plane/train noise, but for the price difference it's totally worth it. They work great with iPhone 17.

Hey! I tried Jabra Elite 7 Pro last year, expecting amazing things, but unfortunately, the noise cancellation wasn't as good as expected for highway drives. Battery life was fine though. I'd suggest researching Sony WF-1000XM5 instead. Haven't used them personally, but everyone raves about them. Good luck!

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

While some of these features sound interesting, I would suggest being more cautious before spending your hard-earned money. I had a very frustrating experience where a pair of expensive earbuds developed a battery fault right after the warranty period ended. It taught me that high price doesnt always equal high reliability. A few things you might want to consider to avoid the same headache:

  • Check if the charging case feels flimsy at the hinge
  • Research if users report connection drops after firmware updates
  • Prioritize models with a reliable transparency mode so you dont lose situational awareness Be careful not to get distracted by the bells and whistles like heart rate tracking. My current pair is much simpler and focuses on a solid connection, and honestly, its far more dependable than the premium ones I used to own. Reliability should definitely be your main priority if youre looking to keep them for a few years.

Stumbled upon this and man, I feel the struggle. I've been buying these things since the first ones came out and honestly, I'm kind of disappointed with how they're made lately. I had major issues with my last two pairs just dying for no reason right after the warranty ended, which really sucks when you're spending that much.

  • Go with Beats, you honestly can't go wrong. They play so nice with the Apple ecosystem and you wont deal with half the connection bugs other brands have.
  • Just get any of the noise-canceling ones from Sony. Their tech is usually top-tier even if the fit can be kinda hit or miss depending on your ear shape.
  • Avoid those cheap generic ones tho... they sound like you're underwater and the plastic feels super flimsy. It's a bit of a gamble either way these days, but staying with the big brands usually saves you from the worst headaches.

ngl i totally feel what wimlyhrxxt said about the quality issues. its been so disappointing lately... i had a pair that literally fell apart at the seam right after the 1 year mark. super annoying when you pay a premium for that it just works experience. even if the tech is great, the physical build feels like it's taking a backseat these days. definitely makes me second guess spending much on the next upgrade tho.

Hold up on the new pods! My '22 AirPods Pro still work perfectly. Unless you need the latest, save your $200. Battery replacements are cheaper than new earbuds. Just a thought from someone who's happy with what they've got. No complaints here!

Before splurging, consider safety. Blocking out all external sound while driving is risky, even with transparency modes. Bone conduction headphones like AfterShokz (around $130) let you hear ambient noise. Sound quality's decent, not amazing, but it's a safer option. I nearly missed a siren once with noise-canceling earbuds; never again!
