Finally ditched my iPhone X because the battery barely lasted two hours. Picked up the 14 but realize none of my old 5W blocks cut it anymore. I need a fast charging setup under $50. I know I need USB-C PD, but I'm seeing mixed reviews on some of these new GaN chargers. I don't want to buy some cheap knockoff that overheats. What are the best fast charging bricks and cables for iPhone 14 users right now?

ngl im no expert but i just looked into this last week for my own upgrade. i found the Apple 20W USB-C Power Adapter is the SAFEST bet if you want peace of mind, even if its kinda bulky. i ended up grabbing the Spigen ArcStation Pro 20W GaN instead because its way smaller and idk supposedly handles heat better... for cables, the Anker 641 USB-C to Lightning (Flow) feels amazing compared to those stiff plastic ones.

Everyone recommends Anker but you're mostly paying for their marketing. You don't need GaN for a single 20W port; it's overkill and adds cost. I use the IKEA SJÖSS 30W USB-C Charger because it's under $10 and safety certified. Pair it with a Monoprice Essentials USB-C to Lightning Cable. You'll spend under $20 total for the same performance as the $50 kits people hype up.

Look, before I give you the specs, are you using this at a desk or is it bouncing around in a truck? Listen, environment matters for these things.
- Anker 511 Charger (Nano 3) is small, but the Belkin 30W USB-C GaN Wall Charger feels sturdier — wait, no — I mean it stays cooler under load.
- Get the Anker 762 USB-C to Lightning Cable (Nylon). Rubber cables are junk in the long run.

- Ugreen Nexode 30W USB-C GaN Charger — It’s super tiny, fits anywhere, and stays way cooler than those old heavy cubes. Usually runs about $16.
- Anker 541 USB-C to Lightning Cable (Bio-Nylon) — These are surprisingly tough and don't tangle like the rubbery ones. Total cost is maybe $30 and it gets me that 50% charge in half an hour.
