Hey everyone! I just finally made the jump and upgraded to the new iPhone 16 Plus. I absolutely love the extra screen real estate and that new Camera Control button, but man, this phone is a bit of a unit in my pocket. To keep things from feeling too bulky, I’m really looking to ditch my traditional bifold wallet and switch over to a MagSafe setup, but I’m feeling a little overwhelmed by the sheer number of options out there right now.
Since the 16 Plus is one of the larger models, I’m specifically looking for a wallet that scales well with the size of the phone. I’ve been looking at the official Apple FineWoven ones, but I’ve heard mixed reviews about how they hold up over time. I really need something that can securely hold at least three cards—my driver’s license, a debit card, and my transit pass—without the cards being a total pain to slide out when I’m at a checkout counter.
My biggest concern is the magnet strength. I’ve had friends tell me that some third-party wallets tend to pop off way too easily when they’re sliding their phone into tight jeans, and the last thing I want is to lose my ID somewhere on the street. I’m also curious if any of you have tried the wallets with built-in stands or the ones that integrate with Apple’s 'Find My' network. Is the extra thickness of a stand-wallet worth it on a phone that’s already quite large, or should I stick to something slim and minimalist like the Spigen or ESR options?
I’m willing to spend up to $60 for something high-quality that won’t fray after a month of use. I’ve spent way too much time scrolling through Amazon and YouTube reviews, and I’d honestly just prefer to hear from some actual users here.
For those of you already rocking the iPhone 16 Plus, which MagSafe wallet are you currently using, and how do you feel about the magnet grip and the overall bulk?
In my experience, u definitely want a wallet with N52 magnets for that 16 Plus cuz they r way stronger than Apple's. honestly, I've tried many over the years and the ESR Geo Magnetic Wallet (HaloLock) is the safest bet. it has a killer grip and that Find My tech is a total lifesaver if it ever slips off... iirc it fits 3 cards easy. GL!
Yo, I've tried many of these over the years and honestly, for the 16 Plus, you highkey gotta prioritize magnet strength so it doesnt snag on your pockets. Since youre looking for a budget-friendly pick, I'd suggest these three options: First, the Spigen Valentinus MagFit Magnetic Wallet Card Holder is only about $20 and it's a total tank. The magnets are actually way stronger than Apple's FineWoven ones. It fits 3 cards perfectly and has a cutout to slide them out easily. Then there's the MOFT Snap-on Phone Stand & MagSafe Wallet for ~$30. It's great if you want a stand, but in my experience, it can pop off a bit easier in tight jeans because it's so thin. For the ultimate safety-first pick, check the PopSockets Magnetic Phone Grip and Wallet (~$40). The grip makes holding that huge 16 Plus way easier, and the magnet is seriously beefy. Personally, i'd go Spigen for the best value and grip security. gl!
Would love to know this too
Story time: I actually tried those expensive brand-name leather ones first and they honestly sucked. I had issues with the wallet sliding off my jeans and almost lost my license... it was pretty scary. I'm still a beginner but I've learned to be cautious! Quick questions for u:
- Do you really need a stand?
- Is leather a dealbreaker? I've found brands like Spigen or Moft are usually more reliable for the price tbh.
