I recently upgraded to the iPhone 16 Plus, and since this is my first time moving away from the old Lightning port, I’m a bit overwhelmed by the USB-C options out there. The cable that comes in the box is okay, but it’s definitely too short for my needs, and I’m worried about it fraying over time. Since the 16 Plus has such a massive battery, I really want to make sure I’m using a cable that can actually handle the fastest charging speeds possible without heating up or throttling.

I’m looking for a high-quality, durable cable—ideally something braided that’s at least 6 or 10 feet long so I can reach my nightstand or use it on the couch. I’ve been browsing brands like Anker and Belkin, but I’m confused about whether I need a specific wattage rating (like 60W or 100W) just to get the maximum speed for my phone. I’m currently using a 35W dual-port adapter, so I want to ensure the cable is a perfect match for that setup. I've heard some cheap cables can even damage the port, so I'm a bit nervous about just picking a random one on Amazon. Does anyone have a specific brand or model they swear by for their iPhone 16 Plus? I’d love to hear what you guys are using to get those quick top-ups safely!

I would suggest the Anker 543 USB-C to USB-C Cable (Bio-Braided, 6ft, 100W). its super durable, cheap, and handles your 35W plug perfectly without any weird heat issues.

+1 to what was said earlier! Honestly, just grab the UGREEN 100W USB-C to USB-C Braided Cable (10ft) for like $11. It’s pretty amazing cuz even tho it’s 100W, the built-in E-marker chip ensures a super safe power handshake with ur 35W brick. Highkey safer for ur battery health... TL;DR: 100W cables have better safety chips and cost basically the same as 60W

For your situation, dont overthink wattage!! Ur iPhone+16+Plus+wont+hit+60W&linkCode=osi&------123456890?5422-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">iPhone 16 Plus wont hit 60W, so basically anything 60W+ is fine. After years of using these: 1. Anker 333 USB-C to USB-C Cable (6ft, 100W): Best value/durability. 2. Belkin BoostCharge Braided USB-C to USB-C Cable (10ft, 60W): Great for reaching the couch. Anker is the best choice for ur 35W plug unless u need length. Both work well and I'm super satisfied!! gl

Building on the earlier suggestion, those 100W ratings are mostly about the internal e-marker chip and wire gauge, which is definitely the safer route for your 35W brick. I would suggest being a bit cautious with the 10ft length tho. Some of those longer braided cables can be really stiff, and if you move the phone around a lot, that weight can put weird leverage on the USB-C port over time. Quick question before you decide... are you mainly looking for something to stay plugged in at home, or do you need it to be flexible enough to coil up and travel with? If you want something that feels a bit more premium, you might want to consider the Native Union Belt Cable XL USB-C to USB-C 10ft. It is quite flexible for its length and has a nice leather strap. Another solid pick is the Satechi USB-C to USB-C Charging Cable 100W 10ft which has great build quality. Both are a step up from the basic budget brands and handle the power handshake perfectly without getting hot. Just make sure to avoid anything that isnt USB-IF certified to keep that new iPhone 16 Plus safe.
