Does anyone actually have a recommendation for a solid iPhone 17 Pro Max case that isn't a complete scam? I’m upgrading from my old 13 Pro Max and honestly I'm so fed up with my current 'protective' case—it literally let my screen shatter from a three-foot drop last week. I've been doing some digging and looked into the OtterBox Defender series, but it makes the phone feel like a literal brick in my pocket (and the 17 is already massive enough). I also checked out those thin carbon fiber ones people rave about on Reddit, but they look like they wouldn't protect the camera lenses at all, which is my biggest priority since the camera bump on this new model is insane. I need something that balances drop protection with some actual grip—I'm tired of my phone sliding off every surface like it's on ice. Budget is flexible, maybe up to $60? I just want something that actually works because I can't deal with another $300 screen repair. Oh, and it has to be MagSafe compatible because I use a desk charger constantly—forgot to mention that. What are people actually using that doesn't suck? I'm just so done with these flimsy $15 Amazon specials.

The Mous Limitless 5.0 iPhone 17 Pro Max provides 45-foot drop protection using AiroShock material without the excessive bulk of an OtterBox. It features a high-impact camera lip and integrated MagSafe magnets for $59.99. For superior grip, the Caudabe Sheath iPhone 17 Pro Max uses a proprietary polymer with a micro-texture that prevents the phone from sliding off flat surfaces. It is rated for 2-meter drops and costs $41. Both options provide significantly more lens and screen protection than thin carbon fiber shells. The Spigen Tough Armor MagFit iPhone 17 Pro Max is a budget alternative at $30. It uses impact foam and a dual-layer design to meet military-grade drop standards while remaining MagSafe compatible. These three options avoid the issues found in cheap Amazon shells or overly thin carbon cases.
