What are the best protective cases for Motorola Razr Ultra (2025)?

Honestly, I’m already about to lose it with this Razr Ultra (2025). It’s a gorgeous phone, but god, it feels like I’m holding a wet piece of soap. I bought the "official" slim case thinking it would be fine, but it literally slides off the top half every time I open the phone—total waste of forty bucks. I'm leaving for a hiking trip in Colorado next Tuesday and I’m terrified I’m gonna drop this thing on a rock and be out a grand.

I’ve been scouring Reddit and some tech blogs (found a few mentions of the Spigen Tough Armor and the Poetic Spartan), but I’m stuck. The Spigen looks like it adds way too much bulk—like, why have a flip phone if it’s gonna be an inch thick in my pocket? And the Poetic ones always look a bit... plasticky? I need something that actually protects the hinge (my biggest fear) without making it look like a brick. My logic was that a hinge guard is mandatory, but most of them seem to interfere with the front screen or just feel flimsy.

Has anyone actually found a mid-range case ($40-$60) that stays put and doesn't block the external display? Also, does anyone know for sure if the 2024 cases actually fit the 2025 model? I’ve seen conflicting reports online and I don't have time to play the return game... help?

Look, this comes up a lot — if you search the forum there’s a giant thread on this — but the short answer is the 2024 cases don't fit the 2025 perfectly, so don't bother playing that game. Since you're heading to Colorado (watch out for the loose gravel on the trails!), just go with Spigen, you really can't go wrong with their build quality. I know you're worried about it being a brick — and yeah, they aren't exactly invisible — but they're the only ones that actually stay attached to the glass without sliding. Actually, wait, if you want something that feels a bit less plasticky, just get any rugged style from UAG. They use much better materials than the cheap brands, and the hinge protection usually doesn't gunk up the front screen. Just pick one of those brands and you’ll be set for the trip.
