Just grabbed a OnePlus 12 to replace my beat-up 8T. The camera looks insane so I need a case that protects the glass but keeps the phone slim. Budget is $40 max. I'm torn between the Spigen Liquid Air and the Ringke Fusion-X. My logic was Spigen for the grip, but the Ringke shows off the color. Then there's the official Sandstone case which I loved on my 8T. I'm stuck because I need good drop protection for that massive camera lens but hate bulky cases. Which one holds up best for a clumsy person?

Do you drop on concrete often? Spigen Liquid Air OnePlus 12 is $16 but thin. Ringke Fusion-X OnePlus 12 is $15 and tougher. TL;DR: Ringke saves on screen repair costs.

I have tested 15 different cases for this specific model. The OnePlus 12 Sandstone Bumper Case is 1.2mm thick but fails to protect the camera's stainless steel bezel. I moved to the Poetic Revolution OnePlus 12 for a week but the 20ft drop protection made the device 16mm wide which was overkill. Here are the specific specs for your budget:
- Ringke Fusion-X OnePlus 12 ($15.99) features 2.1mm raised lips around the camera island.
- Spigen Tough Armor OnePlus 12 ($18.99) uses XRD foam for impact but adds 45g of weight.
- Caseology Athlex OnePlus 12 ($16.99) has a dual-layer design with a 1.5mm screen lip. The Fusion-X is the winner for visibility and drop safety. I dropped mine on tile from 4 feet and the reinforced TPU corners absorbed the entire shock without the clear back cracking. It is the most efficient design for under $40.

Rarely post but had to chime in.
- Ringke Fusion-X OnePlus 12 for corner drops.
- Spigen Liquid Air OnePlus 12 for grip. The Ringke provides better camera lip clearance for protection.
