Upgraded to the OnePlus 14 from a 9 Pro. My old phone had major battery degradation and the cable was fraying, so I needed the change. I'm picky about camera quality and charging speeds. I've been using SuperVOOC for years, but this new model feels finicky with my existing GaN hardware. I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with a third-party PD 3.1 or PPS charger for those 80W+ speeds, or if I'm forced to stick with the official Oppo/OnePlus bricks to get the max rate. Most of my Anker gear seems to throttle. Which specific fast chargers are you guys using to get the full charging potential?

So funny you ask this — last summer I actually went on this massive road trip and my main brick just... gave up the ghost. I figured my high-end GaN charger would handle the phone fine — I mean, 100W is 100W, right? — but no, it just sat there barely sipping power. It turns out these models are really stubborn about that SuperVOOC handshake (it's some proprietary magic, I swear) and even the best PPS chargers cap out way lower than advertised. I spent a week trying to 'hack' it with different cables — wait, I actually tried three different brands — before I just gave in. To get the actual 80W+ speeds, you really need:
- The OnePlus 100W Dual Port SuperVOOC Power Adapter for the best compatibility.
- An Oppo 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charge Brick because it uses the exact same protocol. Third-party PD is great for laptops, but for this phone, you'll just get throttled.
