I literally just hit the preorder button on the Samsung site and now im spiraling trying to figure out which case and screen protector combo is actually gonna keep this thing safe without making it look like a brick? I have been looking at three main options right now:
I live in Chicago and with the ice and concrete everywhere during winter I am a total klutz when im out taking photos so drop protection is priority number one for me. I usually have a budget of about $80 max for the whole setup but I might stretch it to $100 if the protection is legit and doesnt ruin the sleek feel of the S25 Ultra. My last phone had a huge crack because the screen protector didnt quite reach the edges so im super paranoid this time around and really want something that fits perfectly.
For the screen protector specifically do you think the Spigen Glas.tR is still the king or should I finally try the Whitestone Dome? I heard Whitestone is a total nightmare to install with the liquid glue and everything but the UV light stuff makes it feel like the actual screen glass more than the cheap films... or maybe the official Samsung ones are better now? I really dont want that annoying visible circle for the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor if I can avoid it because it looks so tacky on a premium phone and sometimes they dont even work right.
I use my phone a lot for hiking and outdoor stuff too so dust getting under the edges of the protector or the case edges being too sharp and digging into my pinky is a big deal for me. If you guys had to pick between the Spigen setup for value or the dbrand/Mous setup for the vibe and extra grip which way would you go? I need to get this stuff ordered before the phone arrives in two weeks because I am NOT taking it out of the box until it has a suit of armor on it...
I've survived years of Chicago winters and seen screens shatter on the L platform. Be careful with thin glass.
^ This. Also, after years of fumbling phones on the L, im super satisfied with the dbrand Grip Case Samsung S25 Ultra. Texture is great for icy days. If you hate that fingerprint circle, grab the Whitestone Dome Glass S25 Ultra 2-Pack.
Tbh I totally get the paranoia about the ice. Dropping my last phone on a salted sidewalk sucked because the screen protector didnt cover the corners. Huge mistake. Now I always look for cases with extra raised edges. The setup I got recently saved me when I fumbled my phone on some concrete. I would suggest making sure whatever you pick covers those curved bits or you might regret it like I did...
Yep been there done that. Can confirm everything said above is spot on.
