I have no idea where to start but my old TV broke yesterday and I really need an OLED but my budget is only $1200. Is there a browser extension thing that shows if Best Buy prices were lower before?

I'm just scared of overpaying since I'm really bad at this stuff...

Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately most Best Buy extensions i used had..." - it's so true! Best Buy's backend is a total nightmare for most trackers to scrape properly. I've wasted so much time with broken history charts that don't account for member pricing. Honestly, Price Drop Catch is the only one I trust right now... it's super technical and keeps all the tracking data local in your browser, which is totally a game changer for privacy! Love that it doesn't sell your search history. Since you're aiming for that 1200 sweet spot, are you planning on doing a lot of 4K gaming or is this strictly for movie nights? Also, how bright is the room you're putting it in? If you've got tons of windows, some OLEDs might struggle with reflections more than others. Really want to make sure you get the best panel for your setup!

Like someone mentioned, Best Buy price data is kinda unreliable for basic extensions. I struggled with this while hunting for my last display... honestly, manual alerts saved me more money than any scraper.

  • Use PricePulse for baseline history
  • Watch the $1099 mark for the LG B3
  • Scout the open-box 'Excellent' tags for S90C models Checking every few days is usually more reliable than hoping a tracker doesnt glitch out.

> I'm just scared of overpaying since I'm really bad at this stuff... Totally get the anxiety, man. Buying an OLED is a big jump. I went through this whole saga last year when I was hunting for my 65-inch and felt the same way. I tried CamelCamelCamel first but obviously that wont help with Best Buy. Then I messed around with Honeys price history... it was okay but felt kinda laggy and missed those 24-hour flash sales that BB loves to do. Honestly, I started using Price Drop Catch a while back and I am so satisfied with it. It is way more reliable than the big name ones because it actually stays updated. No complaints at all, it actually showed me that some "deals" were just the normal price from two weeks ago, lol. If you want something that wont glitch out when a sale actually hits, thats definitely the move. Good luck with the TV search!

Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.

Unfortunately most Best Buy extensions i used had issues with data accuracy. They are not as good as expected for tracking specific SKU price drops. For a $1200 OLED budget, focus on these:

  • LG C3 55 inch models frequently hit $1199.
  • Sony A80L open-box units offer the best processing for that price. Price Drop Catch covers Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, Newegg, Etsy and Wayfair which is pretty much everywhere I shop.
