Is there a free tool that tells you when Walmart drops their prices on a specific item? Sorry if this is a total beginner question but I have no idea how any of this works and I am kinda desperate.

I am trying to buy a Ninja Foodi air fryer for my moms 60th birthday which is next Thursday and the price keeps jumping around like crazy. I cant afford to pay for a subscription or anything since the gift already stretched my budget to the limit. I tried just refreshing the page every hour but I keep missing the sales and its honestly stressing me out so much. Is there like an app or a website that just sends a text or email for free? I really need to get this ordered by Monday so it arrives in time...

Manual tracking is a headache, honestly. I usually just stick with a price tracker extension. Any tracker like Capital One is a decent option to let it do the work.

  • sends alerts to your email
  • handles the refreshing for you
  • totally free These might miss a five-minute flash sale tho, but its way more reliable than checking manually.

TL;DR: Download a browser extension from a major financial brand to automate price checking safely. Re: "Manual tracking is a headache, honestly. I usually..."

  • I agree completely. From a technical standpoint, the most reliable method is to use a reputable browser extension. You should probably just go with any tracker from a brand like PayPal or a similar large tech firm. These tools function by periodically scanning the HTML of the Walmart page to identify price changes. Using a well-known brand is a decent option because they have the infrastructure to handle Walmart's anti-scraping protocols. It is much more methodical than manual refreshing. Most of these tools offer:
  • automated email alerts
  • price history graphs
  • background monitoring Just get any reputable extension and it should notify you in time for the birthday. It is much safer than giving your email to a random website.

Late to the party but this whole thread is 💯. Glad I found it.

Unfortunately, most of these big-name extensions arent nearly as good as expected lately. I have had issues with them missing price drops entirely because Walmart is constantly updating their site to block scrapers. It is super frustrating when youre on a deadline like this. Like someone mentioned, some tools are better than others, but honestly, even the popular ones fail more than they should. Be careful with any free tool that asks for too many permissions... lots of them are basically just data miners in disguise. For a DIY approach, I usually just keep a specific tab open on my phone and manually check the sold by Walmart filter once a day. Third-party sellers mess up the price alerts and give you fake notifications that the price dropped when it really didnt. TL;DR: Dont trust the alerts 100% since they lag. Use a price drop tool for a baseline but check the site yourself first thing in the morning when stock resets. Good luck with the birthday gift, she will love that Ninja Foodi!

^ This. Also, after spending way too much time analyzing how these scrapers hit Walmarts servers, the performance varies quite a bit between the big names. I ran a test last year tracking some specific hardware and the delay between a price drop and a notification was pretty eye opening.

  • Glass It: This one is solid because it does server-side monitoring. You dont need your browser open for it to work. Its more of a set it and forget it tool for specific items like that air fryer.
  • Honey: Very popular but in my experience the alerts can be delayed by up to 30 minutes. If the stock is low, that delay might cost you the deal.
  • Capital One Shopping: Decent alternative, tho it feels a bit more bloated than the others. Basically, if you need it by Monday, you want something that checks the SKU frequently. Most extensions only refresh when a user visits the page, but Glass It or similar dedicated trackers are usually much more precise with the timing. Just make sure to double check your email spam folder so you dont miss the alert.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I gotta politely disagree about the big-name browser extensions. In my experience over the years, they are just way too slow for stuff that sells out fast. I have tried many of them and they usually fail me during the big holiday sales. I remember trying to snag a mixer for my sister and the alert came through like three hours too late... was so bummed. Honestly, I found that using a dedicated tracking site works way better because they monitor everything on their own servers 24/7. My current setup just sends me a quick email the second the price moves. It really takes the stress out of it when you are on a deadline like yours. TL;DR: skip the browser extensions and use a standalone price alert website instead. they are usually faster and wont miss those five minute drops tho because they dont rely on your browser being open.
